IT’S TIME FOR YOUTH MINISTRY Organizational Meeting May 6 at 7:00 PM in the Upper Room

In my letter with the Parish Report sent to all parishioners last fall, I set some goals as priorities for this coming year. Among them was the development of a comprehensive Youth Ministry Program for our Parish.

Its time!

To successfully launch a youth program, we must successfully gather a group of adults who are willing to serve as adult advisors. I extend the invitation to all adult parishioners – young adults, parents, grandparents, couples – any parishioner who is interested in serving, supporting, or even just giving ideas to the formation of youth ministry for our parish.

There are many ways in which youth ministry is successful in many parishes. There are many models which can be used to help young people become active in their church, and enrich their faith. I believe that the best model is the one that a group of caring, believing, praying adults develops out of love for the faith and desire to share that faith with our youth.

So – who should come to the meeting?

Anyone who is interested in our youth;

Anyone who loves their faith and their church;

Anyone who would like to share some ideas for our youth;

Anyone who is even curious about what a youth ministry might look like.

Anyone who wishes to create a supportive, nurturing, spiritual environment for our young people.

In my first homily here at Immaculate Conception, I shared my conviction that young people often are not involved because no one has given them permission. Join with me to give our youth permission, to empower them to share their many gifts with us.

Thank you for a Beautiful Holy Week

Beautiful liturgy and inspiring worship doesn’t just happen. It requires planning,

preparation, and commitment by many parishioners. Our celebration of the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection this past week was the result of just that dedication. Thank You to all who helped in any way:

Musicians: Mr. George Campeau and the adult choir, Jim Martin, trumpet

Altar Servers

Lectors

Eucharistic Ministers

All who assisted in the decoration and cleaning of the church.

Scout Troop 193 who tended our Easter Fire and groomed the front lawn of the church.

All our participants in the Holy Thursday washing of the feet.

The hospitality committee who prepared our collation after the Easter Vigil

All who prepared mailings, bulletins, and collections.

Parish Staff – who gave many additional hours to complete many tasks.

May God bless us throughout this Holy Easter Season.
