To place yourself or immediate family member on the prayer list, kindly call the Parish Office at 440-942-4500. Please let us know when those on the list are no longer in need of prayers, so that their name may be removed.

If you haven’t already, we ask you prayerfully request that you consider joining the many families who use Faith Direct to fulfill their very generous stewardship commitments to our parish and the wider church. Faith Direct provides our families with the ability to give to our parish via electronic donation.

Eternal Rest Grant to Them, O Lord,

and Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Them.

May They Rest in Peace. Amen

PARISH SUPPORT

With online enrollment, you will be able to access your account any time to view and make changes to your account information and gifts. For those already enrolled, thank you for your participation in the Faith Direct electronic giving program! eGiving has proven to be the most cost effective way for Immaculate Conception to receive your generous donations. To enroll, go to faith.direct/OH397 or download the free app and use our church code: OH397.

Our Stewardship Renewal continues this weekend. If you did not receive a stewardship renewal packet in the mail, please call the office (440-942-4500) and we will provide you with a packet. We have extra stewardship commitment cards in church if you need another one. If you have not yet

completed your commitment card, you still have time to submit a card later this month. You can put the completed card in the collection or mail it to the church office or drop it off at the church office. The first batch of completed cards will be sent to Catholic Stewardship Consultants this week, but we will send them more cards as they come back to the parish office later this month.

Last Saturday we had our annual Clambake at Saint Joseph Hall. I don’t think that I had ever been to a nicer clambake. Thank you to Jeaninne Hozian and her hospitality crew for all of their preparation and hard work in

preparing all of the food for the clambake. Thank you to all who helped serve the clam-bake, especially the Trinitarian Sisters who helped out. And thanks to all who supported the clambake by your presence at this event.

Don’t forget to bring your stewardship commitment card with you to

Mass next weekend. You can also mail in your commitment card if need be. Fr Troha

FAITH FORMATION

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)

If you or someone you know may be interested in the Catholic Church as the way to grow your spiritual journey of faith relation-ship with the Lord, we invite you to look deeper into the Catholic faith, teachings, beliefs and way of life in an open and welcoming environment. We have begun weekly gatherings, where we will share the rich-ness of the Catholic Church with you! These gatherings also are opportunities for you to ask those perplexing and difficult questions you may have about the Church. The RCIA is for: Adults or teenagers who have NOT been baptized or who have been baptized in another Christian denomination. Baptized adult or teenagers (Catholics and Non-Catholics) needing to receive the sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation to complete their Sacraments of Initiation.

Please contact the parish office (942-4500) or Deacon Paul

[email protected] to set up an appointment. As with all our parish’s Religious Formation Programs, all parishioners are invited to attend any or all gatherings! God bless! —Deacon Paul

OUR LIFE WITH THE SAINTS

You’re invited to “Our Life with the Saints,” which is the first Wednesday of each month through June . It is presented at 2:00-3:30 pm and again at 7:00-8:30 pm in the John Paul II room. I hope you will find this helpful and enjoyable. —Fr. McNeil

EUCHARIST—DISCOVERING THE MASS IN THE BIBLE

The Eucharist is the center point of the Mass...but why? Join Deacon Paul.

“The Lamb of God,” “The Bread of Life,” “The Body and the Blood of Christ”… these are phrases we know from the Mass. But do we understand what they mean in the greater and deeper context of Scripture and Church teaching? We invite you to join us for this DVD study program as acclaimed author and teach-er Dr. Brant Pitre (Augustine Institute) rigorously digs down to the biblical roots of the Eucharist, through its foreshadowing in the miraculous events of the Old Testament, the Gospels, and Apostolic teaching. We’ll discover firsthand how Christ’s Body and Blood are an integral and wondrous part of God’s plan for our salvation. TIME: Continues Thursday evenings (October 17, 24, November 7, 14, 21) in St. Joseph Hall from 6:00 P.M. – 7:45 P.M. FEE: $10.00 (payable at the parish office)

DAY OF PRAYER FOR PRIEST

The Avilas of the Diocese of Cleveland, whose mission is to pray for priests and religious and for vocations, is having a Day of Prayer on Wed, October 16, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Center for Pastoral Leadership (28700 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe). Speakers will be Fr. Stanley Klasinski, pastor at St. Clare Parish in Lyndhurst, and Fr. Jay McPhillips, pastor at St. Helen Parish in Newbury. Tickets are $25 (includes lunch). Contact Marianne Repinski at 440-813-2442.

STEWARDSHIP

OUR WAY OF LIFE

Today is Commitment Sunday. All parish families are asked to bring their Commitment Card to Mass. During Mass, as a parish community, we offer God our gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Our goal is to be a Stewardship Parish-a community who is noticeably committed to prayer, parish ministry, and generous financial support. All three are equally important. May God bless you as you discern how He is calling you to grow closer to Him this year.

SINGERS NEEDED

The IC Music Ministry invites you to add your musical talents with ours as we make a Joyful Song to the Lord! ADULT CHOIR: Open to all members of the parish in high school or older. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday at 7:30 pm in Church Meeting Room A. The Adult Choir sings each Sunday at the 11:00 am Liturgy (not 3rd Sundays). Instrumentalists, guitarists and cantors are also welcomed to join our music ministry program. FAMILY CHOIR: Open to all young men and women from grades 2 to 12. Children must be accompanied by their parent. Rehearsal is held each Wednesday, from 6:00 to 6:45 pm in Church Meeting Room A. The Family Choir sings on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the 11:00 am Liturgy. To share your musical talents and help our parish to pray better, see Mike Kelley after any of the weekend Masses, or call him at 216-374-8961.

SOCIETY OF MOTHER TERESA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Society of Mother Teresa is one of our parish’s largest and most serving ministries. It provides meals for those in financial, medical, or temporary need after a hospital stay or illness within Western Lake County. Our clients are referred to us from The Council of Aging or contact us directly. We prepare and deliver meals Monday through Friday. We have a lot of dedicated volunteers, however, there are times when our volunteers become ill or are on vacation. We are always in need of people who would be willing to be a regular or substitute cook or driver. If you are able to volunteer one day a week or one day a month, we need you. For information call Sandy Smith 330-801-6970 or Office 440-942-4500. “What so ever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.”
