Medical Technology (Bioscience Technologies) Program Admission

Requirements

Universities/colleges offering a medical technology program award a Bachelor's degree (often a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Clinical laboratory Sciences) after a four-year program. Most programs are 3 +1, i.e. three years at the school and one clinical year. The student receives the baccalaureate from the university/college.

Most schools prefer students to enter as freshmen, but will accept transfer students, usually up to the end of the sophomore year, as long as the university/college and clinical requirements have been fulfilled.

Most clinical sites will accept students with a baccalaureate degree if their prerequisites have been fulfilled, but often give preferential acceptance to students from affiliated schools. La Salle University does not give a bachelor’s degree in affiliation with any clinical site.

Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia expects students to complete two or three years at another university/college and then transfer into the bioscience technologies program. La Salle University courses are accepted by Thomas Jefferson University. TJU also accepts students that have earned a bachelor’s degree.
