To place yourself or immediate family member on the prayer list, kindly call the Parish Office at 440-942-4500. Please let us know when those on the list are no longer in need of prayers, so that their name may be removed.

We are updating our prayer list. After 90 days names are removed. If you would like to, you may contact the office to be added again.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen

FROM OUR PASTOR, FR. TROHA

II Michael Kapolka & Susan Cherry Work on the new roof for the school building, parish

office building and St . Joseph Hall continues. The work should be completed soon. Due to the work on the roof, all of the safety lights had to be removed as well as the speakers for the church bells. Yes, the speaker for the bells is attached to the Parish Office building. Right now when you leave St. Joseph Hall or PSR at night it is very very dark outside. Once the new roof is completed we will install illumination with the latest in lighting technology to cover the entire area around the buildings. For now, I carry a small LED flashlight in the morning when I open the church at 6:45 am, and also carry a flashlight at night while attending meetings.

The parish quarterly financial report is included in today’s bulletin. Please take the time to look over the report. Speaking of finances, we recently received a nice bequeathal for the Father Francis Curran Endowment Fund from the estate of Maureen Ahern. The amount of the bequeathal was a little over $57,000.00. For those of you who are newer to the parish, Fr.

Francis Curran was the pastor of our parish from September of 1972 until February of 2004. He was one of the nicest priests you had ever met. He was a wonderful pastor and friend to all. He had a tremendous love for our Lord present in the Blessed Sacrament. It is a continuing testimony to his love for our parish that the parish endowment carries his name. Our parish endowment has grown quite a bit in the last few years. Ten percent of all funds that we receive from fundraising goes to the Fr. Francis Curran Endowment Fund. The fund continues to grow through those fundraising donations, investment returns, bequeathals, parishioner donations and memorial donations as well.

Our parish has been chosen by the diocese to host “Nine Nights of Prayer”

from November 30 – December 8. The letter from the Vicar for Evangeliza- tion, Fr. Damian Ference, explains that the nine nights of prayer is “so that the faithful and not-so-faithful, and everyone in between, can come and encounter Jesus through beauty, scripture, tradition, and community, it is first-level evangelization.” The nine nights coincides nicely with the celebration of our patronal feast, the Immaculate Conception. We will be celebrating Night Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours for the nine nights of prayer. The doors of the church will be open from 8:00 pm until 8:45 pm on those evenings. Plan now on taking part in the Nine Nights of Prayer. For more information go to #9NightsCLE.

Fr. Troha

The Eucharist has many facets - - - -

The Eucharist is a prayer for the world; not a prayer of private devotion. We pray not for ourselves (although we are included as being part of the world).

We pray for both the goodness and the pains of the world.

- How does this expand how you think of the Eucharist?

FAITH FORMATION

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY COLLECTION - OCT. 23 & 24, 2021

Pope Francis’ message for World Mission Sunday this year reflects on the theme “We cannot but speak about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20). He reminds us that “as Christians, we cannot keep the Lord to our- selves, “ as we “recall with gratitude all those men and women who by their tes- timony of life help us to renew our baptismal commitment to be generous and joyful apostles of the Gospel.” This is the principal collection benefiting the almost 1,100 missionary dioceses of the world. Thank you for your generosity.

ALL SOULS’ DAY, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2

Please join us at one of the following Masses as we re- member our faithful departed; 7:30 am, 12:00 noon (in Latin, but in present Rite) and 7:00 pm. After the 7:00 pm Mass, there will be a reception in St. Joseph Hall.

MASS BOOK FOR “2022 “

Mass intention requests for the “2022” Mass Book will be accepted starting Wednesday, November 3, 2021 begin- ning at 9:30 am. Please stop in the parish office to re- quest one weekend Mass and one weekday Mass. We will be using the envelope system again with a request of a $10.00 stipend per mass.

FAMILY MASS AND DONUTS

Please join us at our monthly Family Masses, Sundays at 11:00 am. Whether your child is enrolled in PSR, Mater Dei Academy, homeschooled, or is enrolled in area public, catholic or private school, please join us! Donuts will be served in St.

Joseph Hall immediately following Mass. The schedule will be as follows:

November 7: Grades 2-3 , January 16: Grades 4-5, February 6: Grades 6-7, March 6: Grades 8 - high school and April 3: ALL Grades.

WHITE CROSSES

The 180 white crosses (the number of babies aborted every hour) will be placed on the church grounds during the month of October, Respect Life Month. They will be in memory of the 63 million babies tragically killed by abortion since the infamous Roe vs Wade decision legalizing abortion since 1973. It is hoped that these crosses will awaken all of us to the horrific holocaust of abortion.

LIVING ROSARY

This month, let’s welcome Our Blessed Mother into our homes, pray with her and ask her to pray for us as we say the rosary as a family or by ourselves. ” Do you have a rosary and/

or a statue of the Blessed Mother at your home? “ These reli- gious items are helpful when we say the rosary. Join us on Monday, October 25 at 6:15 pm in the Church as our PSR students present a “Living Rosary.” Reception to follow afterwards in St. Joseph Hall. All are welcome.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION PSR

The most appealing invitation to walk with God is the witness of our own lives, the spirit with which we respond to our divine calling, the completeness of our

dedication, the generosity and cheerfulness of our service to God, and the love we have for one anoth- er. - Saint Mother Teresa

The Blessed Mother is our perfect example when it comes to following God’s call. She said, “YES!” to God when He asked her to be the Mother of His Son, Jesus. She, Saint Joseph and Jesus experienced the blessings and sorrows of human families but I am sure they were full of joy, peace and love. They love us, too! Even at the most painful moment of their lives, at Jesus’ crucifixion, Jesus and his Mother remembered us. Jesus said to her, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the Beloved Disci- ple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. (John 19:26-27) Mary is our Mother, too. Let us make her part of our family every day. Pray with her! Say the rosary every day for someone in need of prayers. Even just praying One Hail Mary with great love will save souls.

Our PSR students and teachers are praying for you.

Here is one of her promises to us if we say the rosary faithfully: “The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.”
