Jim retired from the Kansas Dept. of Corrections having served 26 years, the last three as Chief of Security for the Hutchinson Correctional Facility with operational

responsibility of over 365 uniformed officers and 1800 felons.

Prior to Chief of Security Jim served 10 years as the Transportation Director for the Kansas Dept of Corrections. Jim was responsible for the safe transport of over 6,000 prisoners annually using both ground and commercial air transportation methods.

During this roll Jim rewrote the primary policies governing the transport of prisoners and developed a comprehensive training program that he taught to hundreds of officers over a multitude of agencies within Kansas. Jim is now teaching classes throughout the Midwest and has served over 65 agencies and thousands of officers.

Jim developed his knowledge and transport skills while serving as the Special Security Team Leader. It was in this capacity that approved techniques were developed and implemented.

Jim’s knowledge and experience in safely transporting prisoners spanned over half of his 26 year career

Jim now assists with the Criminal Justice Program at Central Christian College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, and has been commissioned to offer this training, free of charge, to any agency requesting it. We trust you will find this service valuable.
