-International affiliates are institutions outside of North America that are focused on Christian undergraduate education in the liberal arts tradition. To be considered as an international affiliate with the Council, each institution must meet specific criteria as outlined in this application.
BENEFITS OF INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATE STATUS
• Invitations to the CCCU’s 20+ workshops and conferences for the president, board members, faculty and administrators.
• Copies of selected reports, presidents’ briefings, results of salary and enrollment surveys, and other listings and publications from the CCCU. (Only the data of member schools is included in the surveys and reports.) • Listing on the CCCU’s website, www.cccu.org, with a link to the institution’s website.
• Permission to display CCCU name and logo on the institution’s website.
• Capability for senior administrators to participate in online peer community groups and receive electronic communications/newsletters.
• Ability to post job openings to the online CCCU Career Center.
• Admission of qualified students who apply to any of the Council’s 12 off-campus programs on a space-available basis: American Studies Program and Washington Journalism Center in Washington, DC; Australia Studies Centre in Brisbane, Australia; Latin American Studies Program in San José, Costa Rica; Los Angeles Film Studies Center in Los Angeles, California; Middle East Studies Program in Jerusalem, Israel; China Studies Program in Xiamen, China; Oxford Summer Programme and Scholars’ Semester in Oxford, England; Contemporary Music Center in Nashville, TN; Uganda Studies Program in Kampala, Uganda; and India Studies Program in Coimbatore, India.
• Copies of the CCCU’s semi-annual Advance magazine mailed to key institutional administrators.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATE STATUS
1. Complete this application form and mail it to the president of the CCCU with the requested documents. 2. Once a formal application is received, CCCU staff will prepare a report for the CCCU Board of Directors,
which must approve all international affiliates. (Note: this process can take up to six months.)
3. The CCCU’s Board Development & Membership Committee presents the final recommendation for affiliation to the Board of Directors during a regular board meeting, and if approved by the full Board, the CCCU President will notify the applicant institution of the Board’s approval.
AFFILIATE DUES
Dues are set by the CCCU Board of Directors. The initial year will be prorated, depending on date of acceptance. Currently, the annual dues for institutions outside of North America are $500 per fiscal year (July 1-June 30).
New international affiliates will be invoiced for current dues on a prorated basis from the time of acceptance to the end of the CCCU fiscal year, June 30. Once an institution is accepted and its dues are received, it will be officially listed as an international affiliate of the CCCU, sent introductory materials, and will be added to mailing lists to receive other materials and notices throughout the year.
CRITERIA FOR INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATE STATUS
To apply for international affiliate status, your institution’s chief executive officer must return this application (please retain a copy for your files) after checking each item below:

1. We are an institution of higher learning or postsecondary education committed to providing a Christian education and integrating biblical faith with our educational programs.Yes No
2. Our institution is legally registered in a country outside the USA and Canada; is in good standing to offer programs similar to those in American higher education; has been in existence for at least three years; and has a total enrollment of at least 250 students at the postsecondary level. (This is required unless a special exception is made by the CCCU Board of Directors on minimumenrollment.) Yes No

REAFFIRMATION PROCESS
Concurrent with the annual payment of dues, the president of each international affiliate institution is asked to reaffirm the institution’s compliance with international affiliate requirements. Additionally, on the rare occasion when there are sufficient questions raised by staff or other member institutions, a more formal reaffirmation or additional documentation may be requested.
TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
If an international affiliate at some future date no longer complies with all membership criteria, the Board may terminate its affiliation. Alternatively, if an international affiliate institution no longer meets some criteria but indicates its intent to work toward full compliance again, it may be put “on notice” for a specific period of time in order to demonstrate full compliance.
An affiliate institution which voluntarily withdraws from membership is expected to pay the pro rata dues invoiced from the beginning of the CCCU’s fiscal year to the date of receipt by the CCCU of the member’s written request to withdraw.
