Book Signing

Please remember to sign the daily book just as it appears on your card. Also, you need to put your number beside your name. There is a sheet located beside the coat room with everyone’s number. If you can’t sign the book legibly please print your name. These are the house committee rules. Therefore, they need to be followed. Also, remember if you hit the daily book, you must show us your card in order to collect the money.

Dues Board

Take a Chance! What better way to get a years worth of dues paid for you. When you come in, buy a chance for a $1. It only takes one to win. The board is available anytime. It’s located in the Service Area where you sign the daily book.

Membership Chairman: Keith Greene

Due to recent changes in the by-laws of Moose International, I must convey to you new limitations and expansions of our lodge rules. Effective July 1, 2014 (with the exception of a legally married spouse) a qualified guest may be signed twice, then must become a member of the lodge in order to continue coming in. THIS INCLUDES BOY FRIEND, GIRL FRIEND, SONS, DAUGHTERS, PARENTS, ANY FAMILY AND FRIENDS, AGE 21 AND OLDER! Also new, begin-ning August 1st, men can sponsor women and women can sponsor men for membership in the Moose fraternity. I’m sure this will open opportunities for some of us, this also means that women that sign-up men are eligible to receive the $20 Moose bucks from the Lodge membership promotion. The Lodge has decided to add a new incentive for any member that increases lodge membership. Anyone, men or women that signs THREE MALE members not only gets 20 Moose bucks each, but will also receive ONE YEARS FREE DUES. We really need your help. THANK YOU!

A Message from the Administrator: Dave Richardson

The holidays are behind us and we are looking forward toward the new year. With so much

promise that the new year brings, we’re tempted to let that spirit of charity and goodwill give

way to feelings of hope and resolution. As Moose members, however, we know that kindness and

giving are essential year-round. As you plan for the year ahead, take a moment to reflect on

what your moose membership means to you, and the positive impact that we have had on the

lives of so many. In particular, I hope that you will think of the children at Mooseheart. Like

the year ahead, they are filled with promise—promise that we as Moose, working together, can

fulfill.

Attend a lodge or chapter meeting and find out more about what the Moose does. Several dozen Tommy

Moose dolls were passed out to local police, fire and ambulance services just before Christmas. These dolls

help young children in time of need. Thanks to everyone who helped with the kids Christmas party.

Thanks to Allison Jowett for a great job of finding the presents Thank you Keith and Jim for helping give a

wonderful memorial service. Thanks to the Moose Riders for the flowers and everyone who donated food

for the meal or just helped. We are truly thankful for our Moose family.

“Happy New Year” from your Moose Legion! Some people think that winter is a time to stay home and wrap themselves up in a blanket, but, not your Moose Legion. We believe that it is a time to enjoy the warmth of fun and fellowship. That is why we are inviting all Moose Legion members and the men of the Lodge to come to a SHORT informational meeting at 6pm on Saturday January 24th. The meeting will be followed by FREE food, and GAMES at which the WOMEN will be welcome to come in and join us having some FUN. This frivolity is scheduled to last till 8pm and the games will include, but are not limited to, Corn Toss, Tar-get shooting, and some WII games. We are Proud to be Moose members and get great satisfaction knowing that we are part of one of the best Charitable organizations in the world, that not only contributes to Mooseheart and Moosehaven, but to our local schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and anyone that needs our help. Moose Legionnaires live the actions of doing some good thing for someone each day!

Don’t forget that our next Moose Legion meeting is on Tuesday, January 13th at 7:30pm and the next Celebration is in East Erie on January 18th at 2pm. Oh, I almost forgot to invite you to warm-up your crock pots and prove who makes the best soup. We will be having a “Soup-er Bowl” Sunday cook-off on February 1st. Tastings begin at kick-off, judging at half time and cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third places.

A MESSAGE FROM ROBIN - Kitchen Manager

As anyone who does any grocery shopping knows, there have been dramatic increases in food prices over the past year. I have been working with the officers to try to keep prices down We have cut back in every way possible, but the kitchen is not making enough to cover its basic expenses. To be able to keep our lodge’s kitchen open, I have no choice but to increase prices. There has been no increase in a years time and it is no longer optional. The increase will take place sometime in January. We are also going to winter hours for the kitchen effective January 1st so there will be a few changes in the hours of operation. I apologize for any inconvenience and hope to have the members contin-ued support. As many of you know, our lodge is very close to my heart and these changes are being made in an effort to keep our kitchen open. Thank You

Winter Kitchen Hours:

Mondays and Tuesdays: 3pm to 9pm Weds. And Thursdays 3pm to 9:30pm
