Lord, we come before You, amazed at Your love for us. You make human life in Your image and therefore it is sacred. Human life comes from You, it belongs to You, and it returns to You. As human beings, We are capable of a relationship with You by which we know You, love You and serve You, and will be united with You forever.

O Lord, “You have been my guide since I was first formed, from my mother’s womb you are my God” (Ps 22:10-1 ). The life of each of us, and of each baby in the womb, reveals to the world Your love and Your glory. Lord, may we never lose our amazement at the gift of human life. May we never lose our reverence for every life that intersects with our own. And may we never lose our readiness to sacrifice ourselves to save the lives of others.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Members of St. Ambrose Parish,

I am pleased to announce that Bishop Burbidge and the Diocese of Arlington gave us

final approval for our loan and the start of construction. After almost ten years of

prayer and hard work, it is time to build! In fact, the diocese and our builders want to

begin construction in the weeks ahead so that we get the foundations and basic exterior

construction done before the winter months.

On Sunday July 25

th

, we will celebrate our last Mass in the current St. Ambrose Church.

On Monday July 26

th

we will begin having daily Mass (Monday through Friday both 7:00

am and 9:00 am Masses, and Saturday morning 9:00 am Mass and Novena) in the Parish

Hall.

Beginning the weekend of July 31

st

, all Sunday Masses (5:00 pm vigil Mass and Sunday

Masses at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 5:00 pm) will be celebrated in the school

gym.

Also, beginning on Saturday July 31

st

, Confessions will be held each Saturday at the

regular times (9:30 am and 3:00 pm) in the parish hall and parish library.

On Monday July 26

th

, workers will begin to remove liturgical items from the church and

begin the initial disassembly of the physical building in preparation for demolition. The

builders estimate that the demolition could take place sometime in late August.

Information and regular updates will be made available to the parish on the parish website,

bulletin flyers, and pulpit announcements. It is our hope to keep the parish connected and

updated so that we can all be praying for this project each step of the way until the new

church is open sometime in winter 2022.

Lastly, I thank you for your continued prayers, support, enthusiasm, generosity, and

patience. Although we will suffer a few inconveniences in the days ahead, we will soon

have a beautiful new church!
