Introduction
The IHS subscription to UpToDate expires on 8/31/2014. The IHS subscription to
Clinical Key begins 9/1/2014.
Clinical Application Coordinators will need to add Clinical Key as a Web Reference
Search option; most will want to default the Web Reference Search selection to
Clinical Key.
The current function of the Infobutton (“I” button) in RPMS EHR v1.1 patch 12 and
preceding is as follows: If the user highlights content and clicks the “I” button, this
launches a search of MedlinePlus or Lab Tests Online for patient education content.
If nothing is highlighted and the user clicks the “I” button, then the Web Reference
Search is launched. Many sites have set this search function to default to UpToDate.

Updating from UpToDate to ClinicalKey
When a user has nothing selected and clicks the “I” button on the Problem List, Visit
Diagnoses, Historical Diagnoses, Patient Education, or Visit Services component, the
following search tool is presented to the user with options as shown in Figure 2-1,
depending on local configuration.

Step One: Add Clinical Key as New Web Reference Site
These must be added in FileMan; use caution. The goal is to add a URL that will
result in an appropriate returned search for the Search Term entered by the user. The
search URL must be entered, not the home URL for a given site.
