The following classes are part of the 2022 USHJA Outreach Program. USEF and USHJA membership is not required to participate in an Outreach Competition or in any Outreach classes. Non-USEF and USHJA members will NOT be charged a Non-Member or Show Pass Fee. Riders and Trainers must be USHJA members at the free Outreach level or higher in order to be eligible for points toward year end awards. Hunter championships will be presented in each hunter section with the top four over fences earning under saddle points. Equitation championships will be presented in each equitation section with points counting equally for all classes. Combined section championships will be presented in each combined section with points counting equally for all classes. Ties broken by the most points over fences; if still tied, then most points in the equitation flat class.

Entry Fee: $75

Outreach class. To be eligible, horses must have competed in at least two classes over fences in any of the Outreach sections at the same show. Riders may not have shown over 2’9” or in the USHJA National Hunter Derby at the same show. Riders may show multiple horses in this class. Open to junior and amateur riders only. Horse and rider combinations to jump a Classic round consisting of 5-6 fences. Directly after the completion of the Classic round, horses will pick up their pace and pass through a set of markers to begin the Handy portion of the class. The Handy round will consist of 4-5 fences, where pace, brilliance, and a shorter track are to be rewarded.

Option fences may be used in either round, at the course designer’s discretion. Two scores will be given by the judging panel, with one score for the Classic round, and one score for the Handy round. The scores will be added together to determine the total score and placement. In the case of a tie, the Handy score will be designated as the tie breaker. Formal attire is requested, but not required.

415. $250 RAINBOW CANYON OPEN HUNTER DERBY 2'6"

Entry Fee: $75

Outreach class. To be eligible, horses must have competed in at least two classes over fences in any 2’6” or 2’9” sections at the same show. Riders may not have shown over 3’0” or in the USHJA National Hunter Derby at the same show. Riders may show multiple horses in this class. Open to junior and amateur riders only. 414. $2,500 USHJA NATIONAL HUNTER DERBY Entry Fee: $275 Please visit www.ushja.org for full specifications. Derby may run as Hunt & Go format depending on counts and multiples.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD

To be awarded to the junior exhibitor considered to be the best all-around exhibitor at the Show. This will be judged on sportsmanship, courtesy, and general behavior as a competitor throughout the entire show and will not relate to the exhibitor’s riding ability. The identity of the several judges who will make this selection by a majority vote will not be disclosed.

The winner is to be awarded the Lydia F. Theurkauf Memorial Perpetual Trophy

CLASSICS

Declaration of all special classes must be made in the Horse show office by 4:00 p.m. the day before the class takes place. Riders are required to wear formal attire in all special classes. Riders must ride for awards. A suitable horse should be available. Failure to show up for the awards presentation in these classes will result in the forfeiture of prize money. Trophy to first, ribbons through 12, and prize money divided as follows: 30%, 22%, 15%, 10%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 5%.

The final round of each division will be the first round of the classic. Exhibitors must enter the classic prior to the start of the first round class. Scratches are not permitted after the first round class has begun. See the time Schedule for the designated first round class.

Horses must have entered, shown, and completed the course in at least two of the respective hunter division classes over fences at this show. To be judged on performance and soundness, suitability and manners to count. To be scored under the open numerical judging system. To be shown over a course of approximately 10 jumps of height designated by qualifying division. The twelve horses with the highest scores from the first round will return to jump a second round over a different course. In the event of equality in the first round, all equal scored will return for the second round. Scores will be combined from the first round with the second round to determine overall winners.

451. OPEN EQUITATION CHALLENGE

Entry Fee: $100

Open to riders of all ages. Horses to be shown in Jumper Equitation Tack. Please see EQ 106.5b,c,d,e,f and g. To be shown over an advanced Equitation course of at least ten (10) fences set at 1.0 m in height with a time allowed based on 375 m/

minute. The first round to be scored numerically on riding style, technique and accuracy. One ( 1 ) point will be deducted for each second over the time allowed and four (4) points will be deducted for each knockdown or refusal. Rider will be eliminated for third (3rd) refusal or fall of horse and/or rider. The top six (6) riders will return for the second round with the lowest score returning first. The second round will consist of eight (8) to ten (10) fences and riders will be judged numerically on smoothness and accuracy in negotiating a time saving track. Any bonus points will be incorporated into the score. There will be no time allowed in the second (2nd) round. The winner will be the rider with the highest combined score after the two (2) rounds. Ribbons to 6th place.

415. HUNT TEAMS OF THREE TANDEM

Entry Fee: $55 per horse. Horses enter individually on entry form.

Open to horses and ponies. Section I - Fence Heights: 2' to 2'3". Section II - Fence Heights: 2'6". Section III - Fence Heights 3'.

Please specify on entry form which section your team is competing in. To be ridden in tandem except for the last fence, which shall be taken abreast. Performance, way of going as a team, 75%; quality, substance, soundness and resemblance as a team, 25%. Trophy to each member of winning team, and ribbons to each team member through 8th place.

The winners are to be awarded the “In The Spirit of togetherness Tandem Award.” Winners of the Best Costume Award to receive the Elvenstar Angel Award. The Dance of Life Award, sponsored by Fieldstone Riding Club, is presented to the team that exhibits extraordinary Teamwork and good sportsmanship in the face of unforeseen difficulty. It is given in honor and remembrance of Susannah Beazley who will “Dance” in our hearts forever.

FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY,

ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

For and in consideration of United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. dba US Equestrian (“USEF”) allowing me, the undersigned, to participate in any capacity (including as a rider, driver, handler, vaulter, longeur, lessee, owner, agent, coach, official, trainer or volunteer) in a USEF sanctioned, licensed or approved event or activity, including but not limited to equestrian clinics, practices, shows, competitions and related or incidental activities and ________________________________(“USEF Event” or “USEF Events”); I, for myself, and on behalf of my spouse, children, heirs and next of kin, and any legal and personal representatives, executors, administrators, successors,, and assigns, hereby agree to and make the following contractual repre- sentations pursuant to this Agreement (the “Agreement”):

A. RULES AND REGULATIONS: I hereby agree that I have read, understand, and agree to be bound by all applicable Federation Bylaws, rules, and policies including the USEF Safe Sport Policy and Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) as published at www.usef.org, as amended from time to time.

B. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK: I knowingly, willingly, and voluntarily acknowledge the inherent risks associated with the sport of equestrian and know that horseback riding and related equestrian activities are inherently dangerous, and that participation in any USEF Event involves risks and dangers including, with- out limitation, the potential for serious bodily injury (including broken bones, head or neck injuries), sickness and disease (including communicable diseases), trauma, pain & suffering, permanent disability, paralysis and death; loss of or damage to personal property (including my mount & equipment) arising out of the unpredictable behavior of horses; exposure to extreme conditions and circumstances; accidents involving other participants, event staff, volunteers or specta- tors; contact or collision with other participants and horses, natural or manmade objects; adverse weather conditions; facilities issues and premises conditions;

failure of protective equipment (including helmets); inadequate safety measures; participants of varying skill levels; situations beyond the immediate control of the USEF Event organizers and competition management; and other undefined, not readily foreseeable and presently unknown risks and dangers (“Risks”).

EQUINE ACTIVITY LIABILITY ACT WARNING:

CAUTION: HORSEBACK RIDING AND EQUINE ACTIVITIES CAN BE DANGEROUS. RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Under the laws of most States, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for any injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.

C. ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I understand that the aforementioned Risks may be caused in whole or in part or result directly or indirectly from the negligence of my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the USEF Events, or the negligent acts or omissions of the Released Par- ties defined below, and I hereby voluntarily and knowingly assume all such Risks and responsibility for any damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses that I incur as a result of my participation in any USEF Events. I also agree to be responsible for any injury or damage caused by me, my horse, my employees or contractors under my direction and control at any USEF Event.

D. WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY, HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNITY: In conjunction with my participation in any USEF Event, I hereby release, waive and covenant not to sue, and further agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the following parties: USEF, USEF Recognized Affiliate Associations, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), USEF clubs, members, Event participants (including athletes/riders, coaches, trainers, judg- es/officials, and other personnel), the Event owner, licensee, and competition managers; the promoters, sponsors, or advertisers of any USEF Event; any charity or other beneficiary which may benefit from the USEF Event; the owners, managers, or lessors of any facilities or premises where a USEF Event may be held; and all directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, and volunteers of any of the aforementioned parties (Individually and Collectively, the

“Released Parties” or “Event Organizers”), with respect to any liability, claim(s), demand(s), cause(s) of action, damage(s), loss, or expense (including court costs and reasonable attorney fees) of any kind or nature (“Liability”) which may arise out of, result from, or relate in any way to my participation in the USEF Events, including claims for Liability caused in whole or in part by the negligent acts or omissions of the Released Parties.

E. COMPLETE AGREEMENT AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE: This Agreement represents the complete understanding between the parties regarding these issues and no oral representations, statements or inducements have been made apart from this Agreement. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this Agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

(collectively “Show”). Each owner shall be responsible for any loss,

damage, or bodily injury that may be occasioned to any person by any horse exhibited; and each owner shall INDEMNIFY the Show against all claims or demands of any nature that may grow out of any loss, damage, or bodily injury occasioned by a horse

exhibited or arise from the negligence of the person(s) in charge of each horse.

In addition to the above, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, HOLD HARMLESS and INDEMNIFICATION, the undersigned knowingly and expressly RELEASES the Show OF ANY ACTS OF NEGLIGENCE, WHETHER ACTIVE OR PASSIVE. This AGREEMENT is made on behalf of the undersigned, and any guest or relative of the undersigned, including minor children or wards thereof. This AGREEMENT shall include the payment of any attorneys’ fees, and shall include the reimbursement to the Show arising out of any loss, damage, or bodily injury occasioned by the
