ECO DAY REPORT-2017

“Keep green and keep our planet clean”

St Anne’s First Grade College for Women inaugurated the Green Warriors Club at D12 on 5th June 2017 .Eco clubs play an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation. The Principal and Vice Principal along with Green warrior Mrs Nabilah, Mrs Archana and Mrs Vinayaalong with other faculties from various departments and studentsattended this programme. The day bloomed with the invocation followed by lighting the candle by the dignitaries. There was a pledge taken by the Green warrior members to protect our mother earth in all the possible ways for giving a much cleaner, greener and safer environment . The main objective of introducing this club was to bring awareness among the students to save environment and making them more responsible citizens. Finally, the programme ended with the vote of thanks by the student President of Green Warriors Club .

SWATCHHTA WORKSHOP REPORT-2017

The Green Warriors club of St Anne’s First Grade College for

Women in collaboration with BPAC organised a workshop on waste

management segregation on 24

th

June 2017under the guidance of

Green warrior coordinators Mrs Nabilah Mrs Archana and Mrs

Vinaya.The seminar stressed on topics like waste segregation, waste

management and trash disposal. The BPAC Members also answered

the queries of the students in an effective manner.

VISIT TO LALBAGH REPORT-2017

Lalbagh is a well-known botanical garden in Bangalore .Green Warriors Club of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women organized a visit to Lalbaghon 11th August 2017 along with Green warrior coordinators Mrs Nabilah, Mrs Archana and Mrs Vinaya. Lalbagh Botanical Garden is home to India’s largest and myriad collection of over 1000 species of tropical plants, it was an eye catching session for the students and eye opening session in understanding the importance of plantation and trees .

PLANTATION DRIVE RPORT-2017

Plantation of saplings was an Awareness programmes on planting new sampling in thee college campus. Nearly 100 saplings were planted at St Anne’s First Grade College for Women by faculties and class representatives from each class and by the members of Green Warriors with the guidance of Green warrior coordinators Mrs Nabilah, Mrs Archana and Ms. Vinaya .The students also took a pledge to conserve the environment, compensate tree that were felled and to preserve the existing trees and not to indulge in any activities that would cause harm to nature. When you campus and classrooms with sampling plants, you're not just adding greenery. These living organisms interact with your body, mind of students in ways that enhance the quality of life.

ECO FRIENDLY FESTIVES REPORT-2017

The festival is gathering of people to celebrate in a more eco-friendly manner to protect the environment from environmental hazards like pollution. Diwali is one of the largest festival celebrated across the country by bursting crackers ,but the crackers buster in turn pollute the environment and reduce the quality of life. Hence the Green warriors club of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women organized an awareness program on celebrating the festivals in an ecofriendly manner for a safer environment. The students were enhanced with an understanding about the difference between eco-friendly festivals and environment hazardous festivals. Members of the eco club were asked to make a model on the eco friendly ganesha to be pollution free The importance of this programme aimed on saving our water resources from harmful materials, to minimize water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution.

The green warrior’s members actively coordinated with Mrs. Nabilah , Mrs Archana and Ms. Vinaya in making the event a thought provoking for students.

SWATCHTA SEVA REPORT-2017

The Green Warriors club of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women in collaboration with BPAC organised Swachhta waste management segregation on 2nd October 2017under the guidance of Green warrior coordinatorsMrs. Nabila, Mrs Archana and Ms. Vinaya.Waste management are the activities and actions which were conducted to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal . Waste segregation was conducted to provide an awareness on dividing waste into dry and wet .The BPAC members gave an awareness program on waste management and segregation to the students in the college campus .. It also acted as a session for interacting with the outer world and understanding the various techniques of waste segregation, waste management and trash removal. The outcome of the collaboration with BPAC was to protect the environment for the health and safety of the population by the

Green Warriors club.

VISIT TO SRI KAATERAMMA DEVI TEMPLE REPORT-2017

Green Warriors Club of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women and the volunteers visited along with NSS volunteers visited the KAATERAMMA DEVI TEMPLE, Hoskote. This temple was built in the year 2009and the students enjoyed the story which was told by the pandit who was there. . The people still follow the rituals and olden methodology in spiritual way. Animals are sacrified in this place even today to offer their prayers to

GoddessessKaateramma. There is a tree called as NETHILI TREE were people believe that this tree provides &fullfils their wishes such as Unmarried people getting married, female infertility, etc. Lunch was served by the temple authorities for the students which the students were delighted and enjoyed happily.The students also involved in cleaning the temple

premises and made awareness to the people in the temple about the importance of cleanliness leading to cleaner and greener environment.

CLEANING OF SURROUNDING REPORT-2018

“Environmental cleanliness begins with each individual desire to be clean.”

Awareness on cleaning of Surroundings of the campus was organized by the members of Green Warriors in St Anne’s First Grade College for Women to maintain a clean and hygiene environment. The mission of the activity was providing students with a cleaner and healthier living environment .The activity enlightened on the effects of Throwing garbage all over the place which will only dirty the surroundings and pollute the environment. It also stressed on controlling and minimizing the use of plastic bags which help to keep the surroundings clean. One should use recycled and eco-friendly products such as paper or jute bags instead of plastic bags for a much cleaner and greener environment.

The students volunteered to clean the campus and enabled the spirit of responsibility towards a better environment with the guidance of Green warrior coordinators Mrs.Shymala, Ms.Vinaya,MsAnitha and Mrs Suman.

CLASS PER PLANT REPORT-2018

Distribution of saplings

“Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale them to stay alive. Can we ever forget that? Let us love trees with every breath we take until we perish.”

EXHIBITION CUM SALE ON ECO FRIENDLY PRODUCTS-REPORT 2018

Eco-friendly products are products that don't harm the environment ,whether in their production, use, or even disposal.Green Warriors club organized an exhibition cum sale of handmade materials to promote on ECO FRIENDLY products on 17 th January 2018 in St Anne’s First Grade College for Women by the members of Green Warriors with the guidance of Green warrior coordinators MrsShymala ,Ms.Vinaya ,MsAnitha and MrsSuman.The faculties and students visited the shops in campus and purchased the Eco Friendly products such as paper bags etc.These ECO FRIENDLY products were made by the members of Green Warriors. Green products help conserve energy, reduce pollution which ultimately benefit the greener environment. Students are provided with the option to choose responsibility over business for enhancing the cleaner and safer environment.

3R(REDUCE,REUSE,RECYCLE)

“REDUCE : key part of waste reduction is conservation.

REUSE : Reusing materials instead of throwing them away. Recycle : Don’t throw away anything that can be recycled

REDUCE,REUSE,RECYCLE(3R), was organised by the members of Green warriors to reduce plastic. Green Warriors club organized is an awareness program in St Anne’s First Grade College for Women with the guidance of Green warrior coordinators MrsShymala ,Ms.Vinaya ,MsAnitha and Mrs Suman for Highlightening the importance of 3R(REDUCE,REUSE,RECYCLE).The students were given a talk on Recycling things each and every day, instead of throwing paper and plastic away .Waste production cannot be eliminated entirely, but everyone can make a significant contribution. This awareness is a stepping stone by the students towards waste management in an efficient and effective way for the Growing economy.

SWACHHTA WASTE MANAGEMENT SEGREGATION REPORT-2018

The Green Warriors club of St Anne’s First Grade College for Women in collaboration with BPAC organised Swachhta waste management segregation on 12 th March 2018 with the guidance of Green warrior coordinators MrsShymala ,Ms.Vinaya ,MsAnitha and Mrs Suman.Waste management are the activities and actions which were conducted to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal . Waste segregation was conduted to provide an awareness on dividing waste into dry and wet .The BPAC members gave an awareness program on waste management and segregation to the students in the college campus .And the members of Green warriors along with BPAC members went in and around Vasanthnagar area to enhance the understanding and awareness on waste management and segregation to the general public.Italso acted as an interaction session of the students with the general public. The outcome of the activity was to protect the environment for the health and safety of the population by the Green Warriors club.
