What is ReadiManager SE200 and what does it do?

ReadiManager SE200 is an integrated application for multipoint conference management, scheduling, gatekeeper, and device control. It allows administrators to remotely manage conference resources to ensure a high-quality experience for each participant.

ReadiManager SE200 also schedules conference elements like endpoints and platform ports, while also providing advanced gatekeeping functions for bandwidth management and participant admission. Additionally, it also automatically launches conferences and notifies participants by centralizing management and monitoring of video and audio endpoints.

What’s new about ReadiManager SE200 Version 2.0?

ReadiManager SE200 Version 2.0 was designed, developed and tested by the team that brought the carrier grade Polycom ReadiVoice products to market. As such, Version 2.0 represents a renewed focus on product usability, quality and reliability – traits that are apparent the first time you sit down and use it.

With committed ongoing development resources, SE200 is also Polycom’s “go forward” application for management, scheduling, and gatekeeper functions. It’s the only product in the market to schedule and manage the high definition duo of the RMX 2000 conference platform and HDX endpoints, and join the RMX 2000 and MGC/MGC+ platforms in a common application for scheduling and management.

What are some of the design and performance enhancements in Version 2.0?

In short, the key feature improvements include:

• Support for up to 1000 devices

• Browser based upgrade from V1.01 or V1.02 to V2.0 • Ability to add ISND participants to ongoing conferences • Workflow and device set-up improvements

• Ability to change layout while in a conference

And key architectural Improvements include:

• Database consolidation from 7 to 2 • SQL 2005 Database

• Internet Explorer 7 with Windows XP

• Ongoing improvements in Architecture, Scale and Redundancy

When is the product available to order?

The product is scheduled to be generally available on June 4, 2007.

Who are ideal candidates for the SE200 V2.0?

Any customer seeking to schedule conferences and manage endpoints on their RMX 2000 conference platform is an ideal candidate for the SE200 Version 2.0, as well as organizations pursuing High Definition video conferencing through the RMX 2000 and Polycom HDX endpoints. Also, customers with existing Polycom endpoints and Polycom MGC/MGC+ bridges can utilize SE200 Version 2.0’s gatekeeper, management and scheduling functionality.

Are there special promotions available with SE200 Version 2.0?

Yes. A promotional bundle will be available to customers who purchase the SE200 Version 2.0 in tandem with the RMX 2000 through 12/31/07. The bundle includes an SE200 appliance with 100 Outlook clients for a price of $15,000, and a reduced price on implementation services. Program details will be provided on the PRC.

Will the product structure for SE200 Version 2.0 change?

Pricing will be similar to V1.0 but licensing will be more flexible. Further details regarding part numbers and prices will be made available on the PRC before GA..

What can I manage with ReadiManager SE200 Version 2.0?

Any H.323 endpoint can register with ReadiManager SE200. Full management capabilities such as software update and device provisioning are available for Polycom video endpoints. Third party endpoints are supported to varying degrees from sole gatekeeping support to the scheduling and auto launching of point to point calls.

With Version 2.0, it is now possible to push the global directory out to Tandberg MXP endpoints for further efficiency.

What packages are available with ReadiManager SE200?

ReadiManager SE200 is available as a rack mounted appliance or as an Integrated Application Module that fits into the MGC+ cabinet.

Is there a need to purchase, configure and maintain a separate server for the Polycom ReadiManager SE200?

No; the Polycom ReadiManager SE200 is a fully self-contained, multi-purpose system that simplifies network and platform management, eliminating the drawbacks and expense associated with having to deploy multiple standalone application servers.

ReadiManager SE200 can manage up to 1,000 devices with Version 2.0. Licenses are enabled based on the number of devices registered on the system. The ratio of devices to concurrent calls is shown below:

• 3:1 in most cases

• 25 device system – 12 concurrent calls with an MGC, 7 without an MGC • Scheduled Rooms count 10 to 1

What are the system hardware specifications of the SE200 appliance?

ReadiManager SE200 appliance is based on a 1U rackmount Intel-processor based platform utilizing the following core components:

• Intel Pentium P4 2.8GHz processor with 512K Cache • 1GB 333MHz DDR memory with ECC (2 x 512MB)

• 60 GB minimum, 7200RPM, 5 1/2" IDE Hard Drive, (60GB on IAM and 80GB on

standalone version)

The same hardware components are used in the Integrated Application Module form factor.

How secure is ReadiManager SE200?

ReadiManager SE200 utilizes a “locked-down” embedded Windows XP-Kernel Operating System and write-protected Flash memory virtual disk-drive to help ensure a stable and secure

environment for mission critical applications.

What options are available for users to schedule voice/video conferences through ReadiManager SE200?

Polycom ReadiManager SE200 users can choose between a web-based setup wizard or a fully integrated MS-Outlook (2000 SR1, 2002 or 2003) client level plug-in option

The Outlook plug-in can be downloaded (.msi file) from ReadiManager SE200 and installed on each scheduling-user's system. In addition, Administrators can create conference scheduling templates to set defaults for the selection of certain conference features.

Is ReadiManager SE200 available in different languages?

Version 2.0 will support English, French, German, Spanish and Swedish names; full support of multiple languages will be available in version 3.0.

What are the service / support options for ReadiManager SE200?

Service support agreements are available for the SE200, providing unlimited technical phone support, software updates (bug fixes / minor releases / release upgrades), and expedited

advance replacement units. Contact your Polycom Reseller or a Polycom Sales representative for more details.

What is the warranty on ReadiManager SE200?

Polycom ReadiManager SE200 comes with a one (1) year limited hardware warranty: unit returned to Polycom factory within 30-days after receipt; 90-day software warranty: bug fixes / minor releases. Please contact your Polycom Reseller or a Polycom Sales representative for more details.

Competitive trade-ins and migration incentives will be managed via specialty NST at present; however formal programs are planned for the later part of 2007.
