Brief Description
The ideal solution for perfect communication, teamwork and conferences - worldwide.
Show, visualize, and train your customers, partners and colleagues actively via the Internet.
With FastViewer it is possible (depending on your edition) to invite up to 100 participants to an active session and to communicate with them, train them, or present them with a variety of content.
The moderator, who initiates the session, only needs to notify the relevant customers, partners or colleagues of the automatically generated session ID (e.g., by e-mail, an instant invitation or the phone).
After entering the session ID, all parties can actively participate in the conference. (On initiating a conference, a password can be additionally defined) This ensures an effective and efficient way of working and training.
By clicking on the STOP button, the session can be terminated immediately at any time.
The previously fixed costs incurred for presentations or training sessions can be significantly reduced by savings in travel costs, travel time as well as living expenses and the cost of accommodation.
Furthermore, information is communicated with FastViewer not only much faster, but also more flexibly and effectively, worldwide and in real time!
System Requirements:
Operating system: Windows XP SP3/Windows Server 2003 SP2 or newer
Prerequisites: Internet access

Setting up a Connection with FastViewer
FastViewer consists of two modules:
The master module "FastMaster.exe" includes your license and must not be passed on to customers. This module represents the session initiator.
The client module "FastClient.exe" can be passed on to anyone. For example, you could make this module available to your customers as well as business partners via your Internet presence. The size of the module also allows it to be sent by e-mail and thus guarantees the fastest possible and spontaneous communication.
To begin a session, start the master module "FastMaster.exe". After starting up and connecting to the appropriate communication server, you are already presented with the opened module:
FastViewer Sidebar (FSB) FastViewer Startup Dialog
The opened FastViewer master module consists of two main elements. Firstly, the "FSB" (FastViewer Sidebar), which provides the functions and options, and secondly, the "Startup Dialog", which shows the functions that have been started. Depending on the acquired edition, these may differ.
© FastViewer GmbH
7
To improve clarity, you can retract and extend the "FSB" by clicking on the sidebar button (/ ).
The participant starts the FastViewer Client Module (FastClient.exe), for example, by downloading it from your website.
After starting up, the following window appears:
To set up a connection, the participant must enter the Session ID (as well as the password chosen by the master, if defined) and click "Connect". (If a password is to be used, an input prompt will then be displayed for this.)
© FastViewer GmbH
8
The participant then receives the following request:"Share this desktop"
If the check box is selected, your counterpart will be able to view your desktop after it is shared.
"Allow remote control" (only Support/Conference) allows your counterpart to get access to your computer's mouse and keyboard.
Clicking on Share all apps grants access to the desktop for the entire duration of the current session. You can change the shared application in the sidebar at any time.
"Select Applications" enables you to select the applications that you want to transfer before you share the desktop. If you click this button, all applications are disabled by default.
Clicking on "Cancel" blocks the access.

Master Module
With the "FastMaster.exe" master module, you can invoke the startup console of your desktop-sharing solution.
If you have acquired a workplace-independent license, you can start the master module as a licensee from any computer.
You can place it on your network or on your desktop. Alternatively, you can save the module on a storage medium (e.g., a USB stick, external hard disk drive) in order to work with it at any time from anywhere in the world.
To begin a session, start the "FastMaster.exe" master module and click on the desired field in the startup dialog. (For example, as shown in the figure below, the field "Conference")

Session number:For each session, a five-digit number is generated automatically. Communicate this number to your session partners (by phone or E-Mail) in order to establish a connection to you.
Input field "Password": (can be optionally selected for conferences)
Under "Password" , you can additionally set a session password that you also communicate (by phone or by e-mail or instant invitation) to your conference participants.
Input field "User Name":
Under "User Name", you can enter any name. This name is your identification for the following session and appears later in the session log as the conference leader.
The windows user name is stored as the default for this.
"Copy Session ID" button:
Clicking on this button copies the generated session number to the clipboard. You now have the option of copying the session ID with a "right-click/Paste" into an e-mail, for example.
"Send invitation" button:
Use this function in order to invite your desired participants to a FastViewer session. Clicking on
"Send invitation" opens your default e-mail application. The session number, password and client module are already integrated.

Master module FSB - AudioWith the help of this function, it is possible to send or receive audio signals using VoIP. Use this feature together with your microphone/headset or even your speaker system.
This is an attractive alternative to the simple telephone for conferences, in particular, since also lets you communicate exclusively through your PC.
By clicking on the icon ( ), you can select the device for the sound output, e.g., your speaker system. In the adjacent bar, you can regulate the volume. The "On/Off" button can be used to enable or disable the function.
With this icon ( ), you can select the device to be used as well as the recording volume displayed next to it. In addition, you can click "Mute" to disable the transmission of your audio signal.
Additional Information:
The audio quality is limited by your available bandwidth. This bandwidth may not always be sufficient for transmitting an error-free signal.
Furthermore, FastViewer recommends the use of a headset, since the use of other communication tools could lead to back coupling and thus make it difficult to communicate.
© FastViewer GmbH
33
Master module FSB - Log messagesAll the functions performed during a session can be seen in chronological order in the Log messages. In addition, each new message is displayed for 3 seconds.
You have the option to save the Log messages when the session ends. There is a corresponding button in the End dialog.

Master Module FSB – User ManagerThe User Manager meets the following requirements:
- Start the master only after a successful login
- User-dependent use of Support, Presentation or Conference - Logging in only at certain times
- Combine multiple users in groups - Combine multiple privileges in roles - Enforce complex passwords
- Setting a minimum length for passwords
- Using single sign on (after importing users from the Active Directory) - Importing users from an Active Directory (AD) or a CSV file
The general rule is that each user can be a member of exactly one group. Furthermore, each group must have exactly one role.
"User Manager" button
In order to start the User Manager, you will need to enter your serial number and the password from your license e-mail when you log in for the first time.
Please note that the User Manager can always be started by only one user at a time.
The User Manager is divided into 4 tabs:
- General Settings - Users
- Group - Roles
© FastViewer GmbH
37
General Settings:User Manager ON:
This setting lets you decide whether a login is mandatory every time the master is started. If it is not, the login is requested only when using the User Manager or the Remote console.
Use complex passwords:
Selecting this check box enforces the use of complex passwords. These must then contain at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, one digit and one special character.
Minimum password length:
Sets the minimum number of characters a password must contain. The minimum length is always 1; blank passwords are not allowed.
Use single sign on:
If you have imported users from the Active Directory, you can use the single sign-on feature for these users. In this case, a check is performed on starting the master to determine whether the logged in Windows user is included in the list of users and has the right to log in. If yes, the user is automatically logged in at the master.
© FastViewer GmbH
38
Users:You can assign a long name for each user in the Name field. This name appears in the Users list.
Every user must be a member of a group; otherwise, the user cannot be saved.
With "Valid until" you can specify in advance whether an account should be valid for only a certain time, e.g., for interns, temporary workers or the like
The "CSV Import" button can be used to import users from an Excel list or a CSV file. The individual values must be delimited by a ; (semi-colon). The list must contain a header row, which will be skipped during the import.
The values must be in the following order:
Login name; Name; Password; Login allowed Login allowed must be set to 0 or 1
The Import LDAP button can be used to import users from an Active Directory. The advantage here is that a single sign-on can be used for these users. You have the option to import all users of your Active Directory or only users from specific organizational units (OUs).
© FastViewer GmbH
39
The password that the user has in the Active Directory is not imported. Consequently, a defaultpassword must be specified for the new users during the import. This password is valid only if Single Sign On is not used or if a login via the Active Directory is not possible.
In addition, note that the import function for a large number of users ( > 1000) generates an increased load on your Active Directory Server, so the operation could take several minutes.
Users who have already been imported are updated when the display name has changed. You can perform the import any number of times. New users are then added. However, no users are deleted from the User Manager when they are no longer present in the AD.
The user ROOTUSER cannot be deleted or modified; only the password can be changed. The login name of the user is always your serial number, and the password is initially set to the password from your license e-mail.
© FastViewer GmbH
40
Groups:A group enables multiple users to be collectively managed as a group. Each group must be a member of a role. At the group level, you can set specific times for logging in, specify whether or not members of a group may log in and also choose which folders on the remote console can be accessed. In order for a user to log in, he or she must have the right to log in on the group level and the user level.

Secure Advisor (Remote Access)
Brief Description
The ideal solution for professional support, for continuous maintenance of individual PCs or servers as well as for fast and efficient assistance.
Take control of your IT infrastructure and/or server environment. From simple PCs to complex corporate networks - worldwide. Once the FastViewer Secure Advisor is installed on your computer, it is available at all times. From the User Manager, you can assign access rights to the administrators of the respective networks. The master can be started independently of the workplace.
With the FastViewer Secure Advisor, you can remotely take over any number of computers (regardless of location) at will without entering a session ID - with a simple double-click.
With Secure Advisor, a user can set up a connection over the Internet to a predefined computer any number of times. This requires a one-time installation of a service on the client PC.
The advantages:
- There is no need to enter a session ID - i.e., even unmanned PCs can be accessed at any time
- Depending on the number of licenses purchased, any number of remote clients can be remotely controlled
The FastViewer Secure Advisor offers triple security: 1. No inbound port required
2. Additional login + password protection of the remote console 3. Login is only possible with your personal master module
© FastViewer GmbH
65
Installation
The FastViewer Secure Advisor consists of two modules:
Master module
The master module "FastMaster.exe" contains your license. It is workplace-independent and can thus be used on any number of PCs. It must not be passed on to customers. Alternatively, you can save the module to a data medium (e.g., USB stick) so that you can work with it at any time from any place world-wide. Using the FastViewer customer portal, you can download your master module at any time.
Remote Setup
After installing the Remote Setup on the desired PC, the Remote Client is integrated in the management console of the master.
Installing the Service (Remote Setup):
The installation of the service on the remote PC must be performed as follows:
Run the "fvwREsetup.exe" file. You can directly download this file from the customer portal to the target PC (use the supplied access data for this purpose).
The following parameters can be used with the setup:
/name = Your Machine Name, If this parameter is not specified, the name of the PC is used /folder = Destination folder, If this parameter is not specified, the computer will appear in
"New Clients"
/info1="Your Text“ The specified text is automatically entered into the corresponding "To" input field.
/info 10="…."
The language selection is displayed. Select the desired language for the setup and click "OK".
The welcome screen appears. Click "Next".
© FastViewer GmbH
66
Select the installation folder here and confirm itwith "Next".
Click "Install". The service is installed and started automatically by the setup.
© FastViewer GmbH
67
Configuration
After the installation, you will see the icon for the FastViewer Remote Status window in your taskbar.
Repeat the process on each PC to be remotely controlled. Note
that a remote client license is required for each installation. This license remains in use until the service is uninstalled. Stopping the service does not automatically release the license.
With a right click on the icon, you get the following choices:
For example, you can stop the service by clicking on "Stop Remote Client" . Now, remote access is not possible any more. The following icon is then displayed on the taskbar:
A double-click on the icon will take you to the FastViewer Remote Status window:
HTTP configuration
If you use a proxy server with authen-tication, you can enter the relevant user data here.
For example, to force the use of HTTP 1.1, you can select "HTTP/1.1" under "HTTP:" from the drop-down menu.
In the "Default LAN Settings", you can enter the proxy server(s) with the respective port or, for example, specify that no proxy is to be used for local addresses.

68
FastProxyThe FastProxy acts as a proxy in a network, combining the status information of up to 500 clients. This status information is sent via a single line to the server. Thus, up to 25 million clients can be managed per server. And the best part of the solution: The system organizes itself completely independently.
Without FastProxy With FastProxy
Here, a distinction is made between two types of FastProxy:
"FastProxy Server":
If you install a remote client as the "Fast Proxy Server", it represents the interface to the communications server. The online status, which is sent from each remote client, is sent to the "FastProxy server" and forwarded by it.
"FastProxy Client":
If you install a remote client as a "FastProxy Client", it will not send its online status independently to the communications server any more, but to the "FastProxy Server" existing in the same network. If the FastProxy is not available, a direct connection is set up.
© FastViewer GmbH
69
"FastProxy Configuration":We recommend that you create 3 profiles in order to have the various FastProxy settings on hand easily at any time. Download the Setup of the remote client with the corresponding profile, according to the task area.
In the FastProxyServer profile, both the FastProxy settings are selected.
In the FastProxyClient profile, only the "Use FastProxy Client" setting is selected.
You now have two options. First, you can selectively use a remote client as the "FastProxyServer". All the other remote clients are installed with the setup of the FastProxyClient profile and use the server as long as it is available.
The second option is only recommended for larger networks. Here, with the FastProxyServer setup, you can install several remote clients that will independently organize your FastProxy functionality. For example, if a computer that is currently the FastProxyServer is shut down, then another gets activated and takes over this function.

UninstallationThe service can always be uninstalled in the Control Panel.
Windows XP: Start - Settings - Control Panel - Software Windows 7: Start - Control Panel - Programs and Features

The following window appears. The service is now removed from your computer.
