PURPOSE

This document establishes a transfer articulation agreement between Jamestown Community College (JCC)

with campuses located in Jamestown and Olean, NY, and Alfred State College (ASC), located in Alfred, NY.

Its purpose is to afford JCC students the opportunity to pre-plan their college careers, and to facilitate the

transfer process for graduates of JCC’s Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Human Services or Associate in

Science (AS) Human Services degree program to the Bachelor of Science (BS) Human Services Management

degree program at ASC.

GENERAL GUARANTEE OF ADMISSION

Graduates from the AAS Human Services or AS Human Services degree programs at JCC who have achieved

a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 are guaranteed admission into the BS Human Services

Management degree program at ASC.

TRANSFER, RESIDENCY, AND GRADUATION INFORMATION

Students who earn an AAS Human Services or an AS Human Services from JCC will receive up to 59 transfer

credit hours from ASC toward meeting the requirements for the BS in Human Services Management. A

detailed listing of JCC/ASC course equivalencies, recommended JCC elective courses, and remaining courses

required for the BS degree is provided for AAS Human Services graduates on pages 1-2 of the appendix, and

for AS Human Services graduates on pages 3-4. Students who transfer all JCC coursework on either list are

guaranteed the opportunity to earn the BS Human Services Management with no more than four additional

semesters of normal coursework through ASC.

(2)

The BS Human Services Management is offered through ASC as an onsite program only. As such, it will be

necessary for matriculated JCC graduates to attend courses at ASC. Students can reduce the required

number of courses at ASC by completing up to 13 credit hours of additional JCC coursework as listed on

page 5 of the appendix before enrolling in the BS Human Services Management degree program. They are

also provided the opportunity to further reduce the time spent at ASC by completing the required full

semester field practicum at a location near JCC.

ASC accepts transfer credit only, not course grades. Grades must be “C” or better for the credits to

transfer.

Graduation requirements to receive the BS in Human Services Management include:

Successful completion of all courses prescribed in the program

A minimum of 45 total upper division credit hours

60 credits of liberals arts and sciences (inclusive of AS/AAS and BS coursework)

1 credit in physical education
