Note: Upgrading the BIOS on existing R50L’s with SLED10 is recommended when upgrading base image to SLED11 to ensure all functionality is working as expected (i.e. WDM integration, etc.).
Using the I2D/Merlin files with WSI or WDM to upgrade base image will also upgrade the BIOS. Alternatively, the BIOS can be upgraded manually (see below)
Steps to update the Bios manually
1. Take a bootable pen drive.2. Unzip the BIOS file and copy the extracted folder onto the pen drive.
3. Boot the device through pen drive. (Can also use “P” key while booting for R and C-Class) 4. Change directory to the respective Bios folder.
5. Run f.bat file and reboot the device when completed.
6. Enter CMOS setup again and hit F9 to Load default configurations. 7. Hit F10 to save changes and Exit.

Known Issues with WDM Imaging (to be addressed in a later release)
1. After pulling of image certificate is not retaining.2. (Http/Https) After changing Network information or Pushing device configuration Error message comes like: “panel has encountered a problem while loading “OAFID:GNOME_MainMenu”. Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?”
3. If we Refresh device information, WDM register two check-ins for Linux clients. 4. Https: Sometimes installing a package returns an error but will complete properly.
Image Upgrade/Downgrade:
1. Extract image pxe-upgrade-Ver11.0.112.zip file to Image upgrade server(ftp/http/https)
2. Upgrade can be done via FTP/HTTP(s) protocols. At the client side, the image server details need to be configured either through DHCP scope options or using the INI and Upgrade settings applet.
Upgrade sever Manual configuration.
a. Computer->Control Center->INI and Upgrade Settings->“image upgrade settings” or
b. Novell add-on Manager-> server settings. c. This will pop-up, “Thin Client Settings” window. d. Configure image upgrade details.
