QUICK START GUIDE

The following steps are a quick reference to getting started on connecting your personal devices to the Teaming Table’s Screen Share capabilities. 1. Power your personal device ON. Ensure an

image is displayed on your screen. 2. From the Screen Share Cubby, find the

compatible cable and connect your personal device. When you connect a powered device, the display monitor will power ON.

3. To take control of the monitor, ensure the cable Share Button is illuminated blue. If it is not, press the button (Fig. 1) to take control of the monitor.

4. To take control of the monitor with another device, repeat steps 1 through 3.

5. When finished, unplug all devices, the monitor will power off within 30 seconds.

POWERED

Includes a six outlet, overload protected power strip, mounted inside the cord management bin and includes two additional 12 Amp, 2-outlet power modules, mounted inside the Screen Share Cubby.

ADJUSTABLE

Tables with casters adjust in 1” increments from 22” to 32”. Tables with glides adjust in 1” increments from 20” to 30”

VESA

Monitor mount supports VESA mounting hole patterns of 75mm, 100mm, and 200mm square.

MOBILITY

Optional casters easily roll the table into place and allow the cart to be mobile.

Position your monitor at the desired angle. Using the provided 3/16” Allen wrench, tighten the large bolt to maintain the monitor tilt position.

Lock the rotational swivel to level the monitor using the provided 1/8” Allen wrench, tighten the set screw to prevent rotational swivel. ADJUSTING THE MONITOR MOUNT (FIG. 2)

The monitor mount on EXPLORE® 4-Leg Teaming Table with Screen Share may be adjusted and locked into place.

• Position your monitor at the desired angle. Using the provided 3/16” Allen wrench, tighten the large bolt to lock the monitor at the desired angle.

• Lock the rotational swivel to level the monitor using the provided 1/8” Allen wrench, by tightening the screw to prevent rotational swivel.

IMPORTANT DISPLAY MONITOR SPECIFICATIONS The display monitor must meet the following specifications:

• HDMI input with native resolution of 1080p.

• When the display monitor powers to ON, the display must return to the last HDMI input selected.

• The display monitor sleep mode feature, sometimes called auto sleep or power saver, must be disabled to work with the Power Controller.

• The display monitor wall mounting hole pattern must not exceed 200mm by 200mm.

• With the stand removed, the display monitor must not exceed 40 lbs.

• Teaming Table with Screen Share is optimized to mount monitors up to 40”, but can accommodate a larger display monitor, as long as it meets the above specifications.

TESTING THE SYSTEM

The pre-configured Screen Share system, once installed, requires no further configuration to the system. To test the Screen Share system:

1. Power your personal device, Extron switch (FIG. 3), and Power Controller (FIG. 4) to ON.

2. If the display monitor does not power to ON, confirm it is properly connected to the Power Controller and/or the monitor’s sleep mode or power saver has been disabled. For instructions, refer to your monitor’s owner manual. 3. With your personal device powered ON and an image displayed on its screen, connect a Share Cable to your personal device.

4. On the connected Share Cable, press the Share Button (FIG. 5). The Share Button will illuminate blue, indicating control of the monitor and that a signal is present. Content will now be displayed from your personal device to the monitor.

5. To connect additional personal devices, repeat steps 3 and 4.

6. When all devices are disconnected, the display monitor will power OFF within 30 seconds. 7. Press the power button on the front of the Power

Controller; the green light (FIG. 4) and display monitor should turn off. Note: Some indicator lights on the Extron Switch and Power Controller will remain illuminated.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your system does not work properly, you may need to reboot your power controller (see page 6, fig. 4). Power OFF for 30 seconds and power back ON. If you are still experiencing problems, follow these troubleshooting tips.

No image appears on the display monitor

Explanation 1 There is a problem with the source device. Solution 1 Verify the source device is powered ON and is displaying an image. Explanation 2 Extron Switch/display monitor HDMI

connection is incorrect. The switch is mounted under the front edge of the table.

Solution 2 Verify that the HDMI output cable from the Extron Switch is connected to the HDMI input on the display monitor and the appropriate HDMI input on the display monitor is selected.

Explanation 3 The display monitor is OFF. Solution 3 Follow the steps under “Testing The System” to ensure the display is on and sleep mode/power saver is disabled. Explanation 4 There is a problem with the display

monitor. Solution 4 Connect a source device directly to the display monitor to ensure if functions properly. Explanation 5 The display monitor does not show

image at the incoming resolution.

Solution 5 On rare occasions the “EDID” settings on the Extron Switch may need to be changed. Refer to the Extron SW HDMI Series User Guide or contact an Extron Support Representative at 800-633-9876. The Share Button

does not illuminate blue when pressed

Explanation 1 There is a problem with the source

device. Solution 1 Verify the source device is powered ON and is displaying an image. Explanation 2 The Share Cables are not correctly wired

to the switch.

Solution 2 Refer to the assembly instructions to ensure the contacts are attached in the correct position and that there is a good connection on the blue tally pins.

Explanation 3 The Share Button does not illuminate when pressed.

Solution 3 Connect your source device to a different Share Cable. If the other Share Cabels function properly, for additional troubleshooting support, contact an Extron Support Representative at 800-633-9876. Warranty replacements are processed through Bretford.

Explanation 4 The Extron Switch is not powered ON. Solution 4 Confirm the LED light indicators are OFF on the Extron Switch. If yes, check the power cable connection on the back of the Extron Switch and verify that the Extron Switch is plugged into a live power source.

Explanation 5 There is a problem with the Extron Switch.

Solution 5 If after checking the connections none of your cables work properly, there may be a problem with the Extron Switch. For additional troubleshooting support, contact an Extron Support Representative at

800-633-9876. Warranty replacements are processed through Bretford. Explanation 6 The source device does not output +5V. Solution 6 Connect a different source device to confirm the system is operating properly. If your source device is incapable of a +5V output, you will need to use

The display monitor does not automatically turn on

Explanation 1 There is a problem with the source

device. Solution 1 Verify the source device is powered ON and is displaying an image. The Share Button will illuminate blue when a signal is present. Explanation 2 Display monitor power is out of sync. Solution 2 The display monitor is in standby/power saver mode. Turn the display ON. Explanation 3 Display monitor has sleep/power saver

mode enabled. Solution 3 Referencing your display monitor’s user guide, disable the sleep/power saver mode. Explanation 4 The Extron Switch and Power Controller

wires are connected incorrectly. Solution 4 Refer to the assembly instructions to ensure the contacts are attached in the correct position on the Extron Switch and the Power Controller. Explanation 5 Extron IPLink configuration is missing

or corrupted.

Solution 5 For additional troubleshooting support, contact an Extron Support Representative at 800-633-9876. Warranty replacements are processed through Bretford.

The display monitor does not turn off when not in use

Explanation 1 Your monitor is not plugged into the

Power Controller. Solution 1 Confirm that the display monitor power cord is connected to outlet on the rear of the Power Controller. Explanation 2 A video signal is present on the device

cables. Solution 2 Confirm no device with an active signal is connected. The system is designed to turn off only when no signal is present.

Prior to calling customer care, please have ready the table model number, date of purchase, and dealer purchased through. Problems related directly to Extron components may be redirected to Extron Customer Care at 800-633-9876.

Bretford Manufacturing, Inc.® designs and manufactures its

products to provide dependable operation. Therefore, Bretford warrants that all products it manufactures are, at date of shipment, free from defects in material or workmanship. Any product, which under normal use, fails to function within the time periods specified below, and found defective in material or workmanship by Bretford’s inspection, at Bretford’s option, will be either repaired or replaced with the same or functionally equivalent product, without charge to you, the end customer. This warranty is inapplicable where, in the judgment of Bretford, the defect is attributable to abnormal wear, misapplication, abuse, accident, misuse, modification or damage after shipment from Bretford’s facility, including damage caused by failure to properly maintain the item.
