Final Assignment John Sitka III Liberty University
The Final Assignment 1. Professional Integrity Competence and Integrity Essay
Competency could be an expertise in a person’s particular field, in people skills, or in the operation of the organization (i.e. business or finance intelligence). A highly successfully leader should strive to be competent in all three areas. A sign of competency for leadership is to be in the process of constant self-improvement. This means that, we may be good in a few areas, but we should strive to continually improve in the other areas such as greater expertise in knowledge, organizational, and people skills (Blackaby, & Blackaby, 2011, Kouzes, & Posner, 2008, Rebore, 2001).
Integrity is an essential a critical aspect of a good and successful leader. There are
successful leaders that have no integrity, such as despots or tyrants. Values must be included as a part of integrity, as they guide our judgment and decision-making skills. This would be evident when we are serving others, that our behaviors and motives are as those who are being observed regardless whether someone is actually looking or not. When we are the leader, our actions should always be beyond reproach at all times (Blackaby, & Blackaby, 2011, Dufresne, & McKenzie, 2009, Kouzes, & Posner, 2008,).
2. Decision Making Essay
the components of the El Paso College and the SWOT into individual responsibilities (Barsky, 2007, Corey, & Corey, 1997, Drath, 2008, Spillance, 2008 Vogelsang, 2008).
In the session, we analyzed the findings to determine what the two main issues were to be addressed. From the available research, we selected low local high school recruitment and low retention of first year Hispanic students. We developed a plan that each member was given a section to present and discuss in the class and who was going to be responsible to get the PowerPoint presentation (John), brochure (Loretta), biography (Sarah), outline (James),and quality checking (Mary) all the material prior to submission responsibilities (Drath, 2008, Spillance, 2008 Vogelsang, 2008).
Finally, we practiced presenting the information and timed each other’s presentation. Toward the end, there was constant evaluation and re-evaluation for maximum effectiveness responsibilities (Corey, & Corey, 1997, Drath, 2008, Spillance, 2008).
