I) Read the given passage and answer the given questions. [12 ]

After tea, Aunt Mary came to visit. She had brought Sarah a Get Well card and some grapes. Kelly liked grapes. Kelly took the grapes upstairs. Sarah was still asleep. Her face was red and spotty. Kelly sat at the end of Sarah’s bed. She looked at the grapes – they were fat, green ones, with no pips. Slowly, Kelly popped a grape into her mouth. Soon there were only two grapes left.

Kelly went into her own room. She felt cross. She was cross with herself for eating the grapes, and she was cross with Sarah for being ill. Just then Kelly’s father came in. He sat down next to Kelly. “You’re not very kind to your little sister, are you?” said Kelly’s father. “Last week, you spoilt her drawing. Yesterday you broke her doll, and today you’ve eaten her grapes.” Kelly went red. “Why do you do it, Kelly?” asked her father. “Sarah always gets everything,” Kelly said. “You and Mum are always talking about her. You don’t care about me.

Once upon a time there lived a queen who had a beautiful cat, the colour of smoke, with china-blue eyes, which she was very fond of. The cat was always with her, and ran after her wherever she went, and even sat up proudly by her side when she drove out in her fine glass coach. ‘Oh, pussy!’ said the queen one day, ‘you are happier than I am! For you have a dear kitten just like yourself, and I have nobody to play with but you.’

‘Don’t cry,’ answered the cat, laying her paw on her mistress’s arm. ‘Crying never does any good. I will see what can be done.’

The cat was as good as her word. As soon as she returned from her drive she trotted off to the forest to consult a fairy that lived there, and very soon after, the queen had a little girl, who seemed made out of snow and sunbeams, and she called her Princess Elmira.
