We’ve put a full range of services in place to care for your health and wellbeing, including a purpose-built medical centre, which provides a full NHS service, dental practice and counselling service. The library runs useful training events including IT and study skills sessions. The Students’ Union also runs workshops on practical matters, and offers advice and support services.

Our beautiful parkland campus was voted one of the best open spaces in the UK and awarded the prestigious Green Flag in 2014 for the fourth consecutive year. this masters programme focuses on the use of accounting and financial information for management planning, decision making and performance evaluation in multinational organisations in the 21st century.

The programme aims to provide a thorough postgraduate education in accounting and finance for graduates who wish to understand how businesses prepare and use financial information for decision making purposes and how the results of those decisions are communicated and evaluated in an international and institutional context. This programme develops your business skills and knowledge, with an emphasis on accounting and financial management.

Our expert staff will give you a well-rounded knowledge of both theory and practice. Who is the programme for? This programme is suitable for applicants with or without background in accounting and finance. Please note however that the programme is not suitable for graduates with advanced knowledge of accounting.

this masters programme combines advanced studies in management with financial reporting – with a focus on effectively managing the strategic objectives of multinational organisations in the 21st century.

This programme develops your understanding in key areas such as international business strategy and the management of people, alongside an advanced knowledge of accounting and financial reporting in a global context. The programme places emphasis on analysing real-world financial situations and the latest research findings are applied to the global challenges facing firms. You will develop your confidence when using financial knowledge, as well as organisation-wide decision-making skills.

You will develop a range of technical knowledge and transferable skills with an emphasis on international management. aN excItINg learNINg eNvIroNmeNt

The Whiteknights campus is home to our state of the art building. Opened in 2009, the £25 million business school is one of the newest and most visually impressive buildings on campus. It houses a 250-seat conference-standard lecture theatre, seminar rooms equipped with the latest technology, dedicated research space, a popular café and visitor area and the Academic Resource Centre. Right next door is the ICMA Centre, home to our Masters programmes in finance. It houses three state-of-the-art dealing rooms equipped with more than 100 Thomson Reuters supplied terminals. We were the first business school in Europe to introduce dealing rooms and remain the only university with a facility on such a scale. The Centre offers two further conference-standard lecture theatres, high-quality seminar rooms, meeting areas and two café bars for students and visitors.

Exclusively for the use of students in the business school, the ARC provides an ideal place for private and group study and easy access to specialist publications, journals and reports, electronic databases and resources, as well as photocopying and printing facilities.

Our main library is right at the centre of campus, and in summer 2013 it underwent a major refurbishment. It houses over 1.3 million volumes. You’ll find silent study areas, group study rooms, PC suites and a popular café for when you need a well-deserved break.

outstaNdINg It FacIlItIes

Extensive PC facilities and wireless internet connections are available across the whole campus. Email and file storage services are provided to all students and can be accessed from anywhere, including via mobile devices, so you can study where and when it suits you. In addition, interactive online tools including Blackboard provide you with extensive learning materials throughout your studies.

In recent years we have invested heavily in the accommodation and catering facilities and we have 14 halls of residence that are home to 5,000 students.

All halls of residence are either on campus or within easy walking distance. All are close to shopping, banks, study, sports and social facilities.

Postgraduate students with an unconditional offer of a place on one of our programmes who apply for accommodation by 1 August will normally be guaranteed a place in university accommodation. Alternatively you may choose to live in private accommodation, and there is a wide variety available in the area. We keep a database of currently available properties at the Accommodation Office. The Students’ Union (RUSU) is a membership organisation representing the views of all students at the university. It’s a hive of activity, day and night, and provides easy access to services, some shopping and a lively social life. RUSU hosts eight retail outlets, including a bookshop and small supermarket, a 2,300 capacity nightclub, bars and a café. It also provides part-time employment opportunities for nearly 200 students.

Whether you prefer a campus or a city location for your studies, Reading provides the best of both worlds. Set in beautiful parkland, the university sits right on the edge of a vibrant city offering some of the best retail and entertainment experiences in the UK. You couldn’t be better situated for travelling here, going home, visiting friends around the UK or exploring the capital and surrounding region. London is just 25 minutes away by train, and there are direct links with both London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports. You can also get direct trains from Reading to cities across the UK.

Reading sits between Windsor and Oxford. If you prefer the countryside to city life then there are plenty of attractive riverside towns and villages to discover along the beautiful Thames Valley, as well as country walks in the local Chiltern Hills.

Everyone has different interests, different ways of unwinding and spending their free time. That’s what’s great about Reading; there’s something for everyone and always a choice of things to do. Campus and town are so close to each other you’ll easily be able to enjoy the best of both. The Oracle Shopping Centre is at the heart of the town with over 80 shops, a wide-range of bars and restaurants and a 10-screen multiplex cinema. Its lively riverside setting is ideal for relaxing.

Reading enjoys a vibrant music scene with many venues offering live music throughout the week and of course hosting the world-famous Reading Festival every year. The town’s popular nightlife offers you everything from rock nights to global music and salsa dancing, comedy nights to theatre.

If you’re a big sports fan you might like to visit the nearby Madejski Stadium, home to Reading Football Club as well as London Irish Rugby Club.

academIc requIremeNts

Entry requirements vary between programmes but generally you are expected to hold a good first or second class UK honours degree or overseas equivalent. Applicants with relevant experience or professional qualifications will also be considered. GMAT may be required for our programmes in finance but is not required for other programmes. Please see below for specific requirements.

laNguage requIremeNts

Applicants to Henley Business School whose first language is not English will be required to attain the International English Language Test Scores (IELTS), or equivalent acceptable qualification accepted by the university, as defined below, to enter a programme.

Not quite at the required level of english language proficiency for your chosen programme?

Students who successfully complete one of the pre-sessional English Language courses run by the University of Reading’s International Study and Language Institute (ISLI), will have a half-band credit applied to their English language condition.

For example - programmes requiring IELTS 7.0 will accept students with a 6.5 in the end of pre-sessional course assessment at the point of entry to your chosen programme providing you have completed the relevant pre- sessional English course with ISLI. WHeN to aPPly

Although there is no formal deadline for applications, competition for places on all our postgraduate Masters programmes is strong, so we advice that you apply as early as possible. International applicants (non-EU) should apply well in advance of the start of term to allow time for their UK visa application to be processed. If you have any questions at any stage, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

lIvINg costs

Please note that tuition fees do not include accommodation and other living costs. Students are advised to budget between £180 and £270 per week depending on their accommodation charges. International students, who often need to allow for additional accommodation and living costs during the three vacations, are advised to budget for at least £12,000 per year excluding tuition fees.
