Cairo University Main Campus is situated in Giza.
Medical Campus (including Faculty of Medicine, Oral and Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and National Cancer Institute) is located in Cairo-Kasr Al-Ainy.
Cairo University has a new campus in the outskirts of Greater Cairo, in Sheikh Zayed- 6 October City.
A new International Campus is to be established in 6 October City.

Disciplines and specializations cover all 10 thematic priorities of FP7 Programme.
The University has a total number of 25 Faculties and Institutes e.g.: Arts, Law, Science, Economics and Political Sciences, Medicine, Urban Planning, Engineering, Physical Medicine, Agriculture, Specific Education, Archeology, National Cancer Institute, African Studies Institute, National Laser Institute.
Total number of specialized and research units in all faculties and institutes is 160, e.g. Scientific Heritage Center, Oriental Studies
Centre, Centre of Land Utilization and Regional Development, Centre of Demographic Applications and Human Resources Development.

Three Nobel prizes are awarded to Cairo University, ex-students: 1- Nobel Prize for Literature: Naguib Mahfuz graduated in Faculty of Arts, Philosophy Department.
2- Nobel Prize for Peace: Yasser Arafat graduated in Faculty of Engineering.
3- Nobel Prize for Peace: Mohamed El Baradei, Faculty of Law.
