The Los Cabos Open of Surf is the premiere professional surf and music eve nt in Mexico.
Beginning in 2013, The Los Cabos Open of Surf started as an ASP 6-Star Men ’s event, and in 2014, it became the first Women’s ASP 6-Star competition in México.
In 2015, The Los Cabos Open of Surf will be a WSL Women’s QS6000, as well as a WSL Men’s and Women’s Pro Junior Event.
The main event site is held at the world-famous surf spot, Zippers, located at Costa Azul, San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, México. WAVE
Zippers in Costa Azul is mainly a right point Beach break, it breaks best on a solid south swell and a medium tide, it has it best shape at 4 to 5 foot, the bottom is sand over boulders. The take off is a short steep fast drop and then it's a fast lippy wave with a few good sections to hit! The inside is shallow over the rocks with a nice quick barrel section at the b each. The best board to ride is your favorite high performance short board The easiest way to paddle out is from the inside beach break through the channel. On a big day sit way outside! Be careful...if you wipe out on the take off you will end up on the rocks!
The best spot to bust an air is on the second section towards the middle as the wave picks up speed.

CHECK-IN/REGISTRATION
Entry will be as normal, using the ASP online entry system. Event check-in will be with the beach marshal onsite at Zipper’s from the first morning of the event, Tuesday June 9, 2015. In addition to a competitor’s pass you will receive one competitor guest pass. The surfer’s area is limited to c ompetitors and competitor’s guests only.
