Matt Reid, Partner in

the Pricewaterhouse

Coopers Melbourne

Deals Practice. Over the last 20 years Matt has advised buyers and sellers on more than 60 M&A transactions across a wide range of industries including not for profit sector and aged care.

Lorraine Poulos specialises in providing

support to the health, aged and disability sectors, was a former Board member of ACS and Chaired the

Community Care

Advisory Committee for several years. Lorraine has extensive experience in aged care, is a member of the DSS Advisory Panel and has provided over 80 CDC Budgeting sessions across Australia. Rosemary Southgate is the head of Russell Kennedy Lawyers Property and Development team and a Law Institute of Victoria Property Law Accredited Specialist. She specialises in the areas of aged care and retirement villages, commercial property and leasing. She regularly advises peak industry bodies such as the Property Council Australia in their dealings with Government and was recognised by Best Lawyers 2014 as the Melbourne Retirement Villages and Senior Living Law "Lawyer of the Year".

Heath Shonhan is a

Business Advisory Director of Bentleys Brisbane. Heath is closely involved with

Australia’s health and ageing sector and heads up Bentleys’ National Health and Ageing Business Unit and the Bentleys National Aged Care Survey team. He is a key advisor to many in health and ageing, including a wide range of private and not-for-profit providers and

capital funders.

Daniel Taylor is the MD

of Credit Collection

Services Group, CCSG Legal and Taylor Investigations. Daniel

has gained extensive experience in both

commercial and

consumer recoveries, as well as commercial and insolvency litigation. Daniel’s experience in acting for nursing homes and suppliers to the industry is expansive. He is often called upon to take active roles in the preparation of credit departments, credit terms of trade right through to complex litigious matters.

Paul Dwyer

has been in the finance industry for 16 years. For the past 12 years, he has focused on the seniors market, providing Credit Advice and more recently Aged Care Advice to older Australians and their families. Paul has been approved as an Accredited Aged Care Professional tm by Aged Care Steps, and holds an Australian Credit Licence issued by ASIC. He is also a Justice of the Peace.

Joseph Zhang is a consultant with RSM Bird

Cameron who works with

his clients to ensure that their financial performance and position allows them to achieve and exceed their targets. He has been immersed in the Living Longer Living Better (LLLB) reforms, his efforts allowing him to provide the financial solutions to guide his clients through the changes.

Nick Heywood-Smith is a

registered physiotherapist, CEO and founder of W&L

Aged Care Services and W&L Learning. Both companies have been developed in collaboration with his wife Nikki after recognising that care of the elderly needed to improve in Australia and this could only be done by attracting quality therapists and nurses into the industry. The company has over 250 staff and therapists and is the national market leader in the provision of mobile allied health services to aged care facilities in Australia.

Melissa Crampton is the Director of the

Subsidies and Supplements Section, in the Funding Policy and Legislation Branch of the Ageing and Aged Care Stream within the

Department of Social Services. The Branch is

responsible for the development of policy and technical advice on funding and legislation issues relevant to the aged care sector and works closely with the Aged Care Financing Authority.

Paul Griffiths was with the Commonwealth

Government for 20 years, including 14 with the Department of Health and Ageing. Subsequently Paul was an Admissions Manager with Southern Cross Care and currently provides a consultancy service on Commonwealth operational requirements such as transfers, sales and admissions; funding applications including ACAR; and maximizing residential aged care services’ income through detailed analysis of Medicare Statements (subsidy/supplements) and residents’ fees and payments.

Aged & Community Services Australia (ACSA) is the national peak industry body for mission based aged care providers in Australia, representng over 800 church, charitable and community based organisations throughout the country. The ACSA Victoria branch represents aged care providers in Victoria who provide high level services through the State in metropolitan, rural and remote locations.
