in 1987, we started as Xavier institute of Management,Bhubaneswar (XiMB) and now we have grown up to become Xavier university. “Xavier university” is dedicated to research & teaching that meets the highest standards of excellence; to conducting research that breaks new ground; and to providing services and solutions that help individuals and the local, national, and global communities.

the ximb campus
the institute is located on 20 acres of verdant campus on the nandan Kanan Road in the neighborhood of nalco, Fortune towers, tech Mahindra and other renowned business houses and institutions. the entire Wi-Fi enabled campus houses the faculty residences, office complex, library and computer center complex, class room complex, auditorium complex, residences for gents, ladies, and executive programme participants, cenDeRet office complex, Management Development centre (MDc) and studio apartments. in addition, the institute has a floodlit basketball court, two floodlit tennis courts, indoor badminton court, gymnasium, and playgrounds for cricket and soccer.
xub campus
the university campus is located on 35 acres surrounded by natural beauty and a digitalized campus with Wi-Fi and with state-of-the-art facilities. this campus is at Kurki-najigarh under Pipli tahsil, situated at a distance of 20 km from our existing campus (12 km from the Bhubaneswar Biju Patnaik international airport). it was inaugurated on 7th July 2014 by shri. naveen Patnaik the honorable chief Minister of odisha. the first year students of MBa-RM, MBa-HRM and two sections of MBa-BM stay there and attend the classes. this campus has all the facilities that are available in the XiMB campus.
Infrastructure
class room complex
the class Room complex includes air-conditioned lecture halls, seminar rooms, syndicate rooms, multi-media hall, computer labs and an executive class rooms. the class rooms are equipped with educational audio/video equipment; tablet Pcs, computers with large monitors, lcD projectors and network connections. While most classes are held in the lecture halls, some prefer the lawn adjacent to the classroom complex for education with the soulful touch of nature.
management development centre
the institute has set up a Management Development centre (MDc) on campus with all modern facilities. it has 3 suites, and 34 twin-sharing, air-conditioned rooms with round the clock internet connection. the MDc has four training halls with the latest training aids. in addition to all these, the institute has built a hi-tech air-conditioned auditorium which can seat 850 people.
residential facilities
With academic activities round-the-clock, students are required to live on the campus. there are separate Residences for gents and ladies. all the rooms have 24-hour internet connectivity through the latest Wi-Fi technology. With the installation of laser printer and photocopying machines, round-the-clock printing and copying facilities are available to the students. the Residences also has a Multi-purpose Hall, cooperative store and a Book club. all the Residences are equipped with washing machines, water coolers, geysers, telephones, televisions, and indoor games like carrom and table tennis. We also have facilities for undisturbed power supply to all the Residences during power failure.
the Mess is managed by a students’ committee and serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. the X-cafe provides a variety of fast food to the students who work till late in the night.
the executive Hostel has 48 air-conditioned and self contained single rooms and a mess managed and run by the institute. the studio apartments have 12 self-contained, air-conditioned flats, 5 Faculty Quarters, 72 self-contained, non-air-conditioned, twin-sharing rooms, and 24 self-contained, furnished, double sharing rooms for Management training Programs. a doctor is available for consultation in the campus from 6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. every day except on sundays.a dispensary is set up in the university campus where the doctor is available from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. every day except on sundays. an ambulance is available for 24x7 for the emergency. a fulltime nurse will be assigned to help the residents for consulting any health concerns.
all the residences have security guards to safeguard and to stop any outsiders entering into the residences.
sports and fitness facilities
XiMB prepares students for the corporate wars by providing the best sports facilities. the fitness enthusiasts can experience body-mind balance by working out in the well-equipped gymnasium and jogging tracks. Basketball, Badminton, cricket, Football, tennis, table tennis and Volleyball are the popular campus sports. the students participated in the sports meet called ‘Valhalla’ at XlRi, Jamshedpur in the last academic year and were the runners-up of the whole sports event. Periodical sports events are organized by the sports committee to add relaxation for the physique as well as to revitalize from intellectual fatigue. Besides sports events, the student executive council (sec) takes initiatives in arranging cultural events and intellectual programs.

this vertical works at making education accessible to the socially and economically deprived sections of the society, in order to empower them for a better tomorrow. there are 2 initiatives under this vertical:

Community Development
this vertical focusses on sensitive and social issues like national unity, HiV prevention, commemoration of martyred human rights workers. it is facilitated by events like street play on world aiDs day, candle march on independence Day, Para-athlos for special children and many more.
Ummeed
this vertical works in association with orphanages, schools, and other institutions that cater to the deprived sections of the society, to identify areas of improvement. it then works in partnership with corporate houses to implement the necessary steps, for sustainable development and better productivity of these social institutions.
Inter-Connect
this vertical works at creating and maintaining a knowledge transfer platform for sRc with other educational institutions, non-profit organizations, ngos, and corporate social cells. it amalgamates functioning of sRcs in other MBa colleges and help them achieve their social objective.
Developing Leadership with a Human Face
the social Responsibility cell at XiMB is committed towards the goal of promoting the well-being and facilitating the process of uplifting the vulnerable population. it is not simply a charitable organization or social service club which provides financial and material aid but aims at starting a movement for social change through empowerment and integration of these individuals with the help of education, vocational training and increasing awareness amongst masses.
What we do
social responsibility cell, XiMB, believes that if we all unite, we can make a small but considerable difference in the lives of people at the bottom of the pyramid. We believe that everyone is a citizen in his own right, entitled to the full spectrum of human rights. at sRc, we bring in volunteers who constantly dedicate themselves to bringing a smile on the faces of the deprived. sRc acts as a motivator for young students to come together from all walks of life and join together to work for the cause of the society.

Candle March
every year, sRc organizes a candle march on independence Day. on this occasion, eachmember of the XiMB family comes together, from students to mess workers, and re-affirmshis/ her pledge to the service of the nation. the march culminates with the candles being placed on an outline of the map of india, reminding us, that though the picture may look rosy, there are still evils to overcome.
World AIDS Day
sRc organized an aiDs awareness campaign at salia sahi, a major slum in Bhubaneswar .the student community of XiMB staged a play on the theme, which was well accepted by the residents of the locality. the students also participated in an aiDs awareness rally organized in the city. Moreover, an article-writing contest and a sketch making competetion were also conducted in the XiMB

World Humanitarian Day
World humanitarian Day is commemorated worldwide in honor of those who have lost their lives in humanitarian service and those, who continue to bring assistance and relief to millions. it is an annual event at XiMB campus. academic year 2013 marked the 5th World humanitarian day with the message “the World needs more...”.XiMB taking this message forward believes in a world with more social inclusion. the social Responsibility cell of the institute along with institute of social Work & Research organized an event to showcase this inclusion by inviting visually impaired students to the campus for various competitions. it was organized by sRc at the campus auditorium and was attended by a group of eminent guests, esteemed faculty members and students of XiMB.
Joy of Giving (JOG) Week
Jog Week spreads the message of adding happiness to one’s own life by giving back to society in abundance. the social Responsibility cell of XiMB organized this week between 2nd october, 2013 to 8th october, 2013 and 21st association with goonj and Bakul foundation. collection drop boxes were placed at various places in the XiMB campus. the support from the faculty and students was over-whelming, and they came forward whole-heartedly to donate for the drive.
Children’s Day
sRc believes in spreading smile on children’s day and they try to do so by celebrating the day by visiting orphanages and organizing fun competitions like painting, rangoii, singing, dancing and mimicry. it includes visits to orphanages like Harsha memorial and Kiran orphanage. the event is concluded by prize distribution ceremony to boost the confidence of the young minds.

MaXiM (Marketing association of XiM) works with Placement committee for offering live projects to students, which is among the core objectives of the committee the live projects involve students working in groups with community, regional and national organisations. the projects are ‘live’ (i.e. a real client with a real problem) and are done in real time, with a defined end result – a report or presentation is often made to the client group. in many cases the results of the live project have been enacted or else led to further research or consultancy. live projects reject the separation between real and theoretical, practice and education and allow the student to be creative within constraints. the selection of students for live projects are done on basis of soPs, and panel interviews done by either the organization itself or MaXiM faculty coordinator. students from XiM have been selected for live projects in sectors ranging from educational sectors to medical fields. the areas covered include conventional marketing, marketing and strategy, marketing research and Digital marketing. students from XiM have been awarded certificates of appreciation and letters of recommendation in cases of exceptional performance.
