Abstract

People mostly care about their outward appearance. Who doesn’t want to become more beautiful? And what ways can people choose to improve their outer appearance? Thanks to the development of medical technology, people can make some changes to their body through micro-plastic surgery without lots of money and can do so in a short time. Therefore, more and more people will want to improve their physical appearance through micro-plastic surgery. Furthermore, with the current trend for such surgery, it is easy to see how the industry of micro-plastic surgery has spread all over the world. Thus, we were interested to find out more about micro-plastic surgery. We listed some questions as the basis of our research. We found the information by various methods. Moreover, we make a questionnaire to understand the public’s opinion about micro-plastic surgery. Through this paper we wanted to understand more information about it.

I. Introduction

I.1 Motivation of the Study

With the current trend of micro-plastic surgery from Korea becoming more popular, a lot of people are attracted by the beautiful or handsome stars on TV and many of them want to be as beautiful as the stars. As a result, more and more people look for help from medical science. Thus, Medical Cosmetology has become more and more popular especially Micro-Plastic Surgery. It doesn’t cost too much and won’t spend too much time for recovery . What’s better, after the surgery, people won’t look weird. So Micro-Plastic Surgery has become a hit! This phenomenon makes us want to know more about Micro-Plastic Surgery, so we got on the Internet to find some information about the study. After reading the information about it, we found that Micro-Plastic Surgery is interesting! According to the information we read, Micro-Plastic is a kind of Medical Cosmetology and it becomes more and more prosperous day by day. In addition, it brings a lot of economic benefits. So we want to investigate it, and learn more from our investigation.

II. Methods

II.1 The Resources of the Internet and Related Magazines and

Books

First, we found books related to micro-plastic surgery, the medical, business magazines and the information from the Internet. Second, we discussed our findings and completed our literature review of our research questions. Third, a questionnaire was used to know the public’s viewpoint about micro-plastic surgery. Finally, we analyzed the data and reached some conclusions.

II.2 Questionnaire

In order to understand the public’s views about micro-plastic surgery, we looked for people at different ages to fill out our questionnaire. After the survey, we will know the public’s perceptions about micro-plastic surgery. In addition, the influence of micro-plastic surgery was discussed in our survey.

III. Findings and Discussion

III.1 Literary Review

III.1.1 The Introduction of Micro-Plastic Surgery

If you think that micro-plastic surgery is the same as plastic surgery, then you are wrong. There are some differences between plastic surgery and micro-plastic surgery.

Micro-plastic surgery does not need the same professional technology as plastic surgery. Treatment duration is short and the cost is reasonable.

It is a kind of invasive surgery that injects filler or uses laser such as Rhinoplasty, Mesotherapy, Fraxel Laser and so on. It uses the principle of light and heat of medical equipment, including laser. It is a new and popular way to adjust your facial features, reducing wrinkles, whitening, and so on.

Without a knife or an operation, micro-plastic surgery is faster and more convenient than plastic surgery and you can rapidly recover without any wound or scar. However, micro-plastic is not a permanent treatment. You need to take micro-plastic surgery regularly. In contrast, its security is higher with lower side effects and less pain.

III.1.2 The Origin and Development of Micro-Plastic

Surgery

In the field of plastic surgery, India is the country that contributed the most. In 7th and 6th_{century B.C, Indian would cut the prisoners of war and criminals’ noses as} a kind of punishment. For this reason, many people didn’t have noses then, so they had to transplant other parts of their body and make new noses. To our astonishment, the differences between the reconstructive surgery at that time and the surgery today

are not many. Later, the reconstructive surgery of noses spread to some countries in the Middle East. Before long, the reconstructive surgery spread to many countries in Europe with Islam.

Micro-plastic surgery was brought to Taiwan by Europeans, and it has a very long history. Why is micro-plastic surgery so popular in Taiwan's market? According to statistics, about seventy percent of adult females who are not very satisfied with their appearance think doing surgery is a good choice to solve the problem. Because of their desire for beauty, Medical Cosmetology has become more and more prosperous.

III. 2 The Analysis of the Questionnaire

Participants of this questionnaire consisted of six age ranges: people under 18 years old, 19-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, and over 56 years old. We sent 20 questionnaires to each age range. The results are given below.

Table2 shows the percentages of males and females wanting to undergo Micro-plastic surgery are shown below in each of the age groups. Apparently, from 36 to 45 years old most males and females want to undergo Micro-plastic surgery, and over 56 years old, most males and females do not want to undergo it. So we looked at people from 36-45 years old.

In Figure 1 we can see much money people want to spend on Micro-plastic surgery. 33% of them are willing to spend 20,001~30,000. 27% of them are willing to spend 10,001~20,000 or over 40,001. 7% of them are willing to spend 30,001~40,000. 6% of them are willing spend under 5,000.

According to Figure2, there are three kinds of micro-plastic surgeries that these people most want to undergo. First is Mesotherapy, second is Microneedle therapy and third is Botulinum.

As you can see, Figure 3 ranks the reasons why these people want to undergo micro-plastic surgery. The first reason is to appeal to the opposite sex. The second is work needs, and the third is enhancing self-confidence.

III.3 The Discussion of the Question

People at the age of 36-45 are facing ageing. They are not satisfied with their faces and want to improve their appearance. These people have a more stable income so they are willing to spend a lot of money on improving their appearance by Micro-plastic surgery. They will use Mesotherapy and Botulinum to eliminate many winkles on their face. Some of them also want Microneedle therapy to improve the condition of their face. By doing these Micro-plastic surgeries they can meet their work needs such as making a good impression on their customers, colleagues, and bosses. They can also enhance their self-confidence and they can feel happier. In addition, they can appeal to opposite sex such as their lovers.

IV. Conclusion

This research revealed some interesting findings related to Micro-plastic surgery. According to our survey, we found out that in today’s society many people pay attention to their appearance and want to do Micro-plastic surgery The proportion of females was higher than that of males. These people are eager to improve their appearance, particularly people 36-45 years old. In addition, these people are willing to spend a lot of money on improving their face. As a result, Micro-plastic surgery may become more and more prosperous. In short, Micro-plastic surgery is a popular way to improve appearance and it will become more and more popular because everyone wants to be beautiful.
