GUIDANCE ON COMPLETING THE APPLICATION FORM
Deadline
The deadline for submitting this application form is 15 January for the entire subsequent academic year (the next autumn and/or spring). In the second round (deadline 3 June), you can only apply for any un-filled student places for the spring semester. There is no guaranteed number of student places in the sec-ond round. If possible, you should therefore apply before 15 January, irrespective of when you want to study abroad.
Answer
You can expect to receive an answer about nomination within four weeks of the application deadline. After the application deadline, the study places are allocated, and you will be informed whether you have been nominated for a student place. Please note that you must also apply for admission to the host university. You will receive further information about this in connection with the nomination.
(1) Grade
Overseas student places are largely allocated according to grades. You must calculate your grade by adding all your grades together and dividing by the number of marks. Thus, you are not supposed to calculate a weighted average. Your grade will be checked when we process your application.
(1) No. of ECTS credits
On the application form, you must state the number of ECTS credits you have earned at the time of application, as well as the expected number of ECTS credits at the time of departure. If you are a Master's degree student, include the number of ECTS credits you earned on your Bachelor's degree programme.
(2) Prioritisation of destination
Under item 2, state all the overseas destinations you want to apply to through the International Centre. If you apply to several host universities and/or networks, you increase your chances of getting a place. State host uni-versities (or networks) in order of priority. If you are applying for a student place in a network (AEN, CREPUQ or MAUI), state the network on the list of priorities and include a list of three prioritised universities in the network. (2) Study period
State the study period abroad. Please tick whether you wish to apply for autumn, spring or the entire academic year (autumn followed by spring).
(2) Degree programme at host university
State what you want to study at the host university, for example law, political science, biology etc. If you want to take subjects which are part of different study programmes at the same university, then please write down all the study programmes (e.g. Psychology & Sociology).
(3) Transcript of records
Attach a transcript of records. It can be from Self-service. Choose the page with the heading: Passed results. (3) Preliminary approval
For your first choice, you must have obtained a preliminary approval, which must be attached to your applica-tion. It is usually the board of studies, director of studies etc. who will consider your preliminary approval (check with your subject). It may take up to one month to consider the preliminary approval. Please note that you only have to include a preliminary approval for your first choice. Thus, if you are looking at five different universities, you do not need a preliminary approval for all five destinations.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY – If you did not manage to have your preliminary approval considered before the ap-plication deadline, please indicate that the preliminary approval will be forwarded later. Please note that your application cannot be finalised until we have received your preliminary approval.
(3) List of subjects
We can see the subjects that you wish to do at the university which is your first choice on your preliminary ap-proval. If you have several priorities, we need a list of the subjects which you plan to take at these host universi-ties. There is no template available for this list. You can draw up a simple list, such as a Word document, stating the subject's course identification code (if available). You must write subjects on the course lists which together correspond to 30 ECTS credits per host university.
If you are applying to a network (AEN, CREPUQ or MAUI), you must attach a list in which you have select-ed and prioritisselect-ed three universities in the network. Remember that you must also attach lists of the sub-jects you wish to do at each of the prioritised universities in the network. If you are granted a place in a network, it will take some time from when you are granted the place until you are informed which of the prioritised universities in the network you have been nominated for.
(4) If you are applying under several programmes – list them all in order of priority
If you are applying under several programmes, then specify the order of priority. This makes it easier for us to handle your applications and to follow your wishes to the greatest possible extent. Please state which pro-gramme you are applying under: Erasmus, Nordplus/Nordlys or Overseas. Your chances of a successful applica-tion will not be impaired if we can see that you have also applied under other programmes. There is only space for eight priorities; we do not expect that you will need more.
(5) Previously allocated place
Specify whether you have previously been allocated a student place overseas. You should also write yes if you have previously been allocated a place but have subsequently declined it.
