We are proud to announce Dr. Ellen H. Yankellow as the 2015 

Sadie Award winner and are honored to co‐chair the 13th Annual 

Cabaret for Kids for The Children’s Guild. Each year, The Children’s 

Guild selects an honoree to receive its coveted Sadie Award.This 

prestigious award is presented to an individual(s) who embodies 

the spirit and vision of The Children’s Guild by making the impossible possible.  

Dr. Yankellow joins past honorees Ronald Caplan, Dr. Levi Watkins, Donald Manekin, 

Ron Shapiro, Bill Struever, Walter Sondheim, Steve & Mindy Geppi, Lou Grasmick, Nick 

& Jeanne Tsakalos, Leroy Merritt, Ray Lewis & Sunseria “Buffy” Smith, Frank & Janet 

Kelly, Sheela Murthy and Lee W. Warner in receiving this award. 

The support of past honorees and generous donors allows The Children’s Guild to 

innovate and build unique environments where children and families can thrive. The 

proceeds from Cabaret for Kids goes toward enriching the continuum of programs and 

services of The Children’s Guild, helping children overcome obstacles, providing them 

with the vision, courage, and will to succeed. The Children’s Guild serves the 

community through its special needs schools, autism center, charter schools, 

therapeutic group homes, treatment foster care program, family help center, and 

school‐based mental health program. 

We look forward to hosting our sponsors and guests at a world‐class venue, honoring 

an exceptional community leader, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, Dr. Ellen H. 

Yankellow.  Play a part in advancing the mission of The Children’s Guild by joining us 

the evening of February 28th, 2015 for cocktails, dinner and an original show, “Sheer 

Will”, a tribute to Dr. Yankellow’s life and success.

Dr. Ellen H. Yankellow is the President and CEO of Correct 

Rx Pharmacy Services, Inc. and a na onal leader in the 

advancement of clinical pharmacy for ins tu ons.  

Dr. Yankellow is regarded as one of the leading women 

pharmacists in the country and an expert in ins tu onal/ geriatric pharmacy. She started Correct Rx a er a long 

career as a top execu ve in the pharmacy services 

industry. Her business model is based on innova ve 

clinical programs that offer be er medical outcomes and 

lower healthcare costs at the same  me.  

Strongly commi ed to delivering the highest quality 

services to her pa ents who reside in correc onal, 

residen al and senior care facili es throughout the country, Dr. Yankellow has created 

a culture of caring that pervades every aspect of her business. “Correct Rx offers a 

variety of clinical services including managing the selec on and quan ty of 

medica ons, pharmacist‐controlled medica on therapy and disease state 

management. All of these ini a ves result in op mal use of medica ons and provide 

undeniable value,” says Dr. Yankellow. “At Correct Rx, our goal is to be an 

indispensable part of your healthcare team. We have proven that Clinical Pharmacy is 

a smarter way to manage your healthcare costs.” 

Dr. Yankellow’s phenomenal business success is equally matched by her commitment 

to and passion for community ac vism and philanthropy. She serves on the boards of 

numerous nonprofit organiza ons including Chair of the University of Maryland‐School 

of Pharmacy Board of Visitors, University of Maryland Bal more Founda on, Inc. 

Board of Trustees, The Carter Center Board of Councilors, Network 2000, Inc., 

Bal more City Founda on, Inc., Maryland Chamber of Commerce, The Bal more 

Symphony Orchestra Women’s Leadership Council, St. Mary’s Seminary and University, 

Catholic Community Founda on Board of Trustees, Stevenson University President’s 

Advisory Council and part of the United Way of Central Maryland Leadership and 

Philanthropic Network. She also serves on the corporate boards of AAA Mid‐Atlan c 

and Maryland and J.J. Haines & Company, Inc. 

Dr. Yankellow has also been recognized with numerous awards including Maryland 

Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame, Associated Black Chari es Community 

Impact Award, The Daily Record’s Maryland’s Most Admired CEOs, University of 

Maryland School of Pharmacy’s Key to Pharmacy Hall, Anne Arundel County and 

Annapolis Chamber of Commerce’s Business Leader of the Year, The Daily Record’s 

Influen al Marylander, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Dis nguished Women’s Award, 

Alzheimer’s Associa on, Greater Maryland Helen C. Schulze Award and Ernst & Young 

Entrepreneur of the Year Award for health services. She has received three Maryland’s 

Top 100 Women awards from The Daily Record and has been inducted into its Circle of 

Excellence. Dr. Yankellow was also inducted into the Chimes Hall of Fame, received the 

Bravo! Entrepreneur Award from Smart Woman Magazine and was recognized by The 

Gaze e of Poli cs and Business as one of Maryland’s Top 25 CEO’s You Need to Know.
