Framework Design of Precision Management
System for Mountain Orchard Based on
RFID/Zigbee Technology

ABSTRACT
In order to meet the needs of precise management of mountain orchards in southern China, an orchard management system based on Zigbee/RFID technology was designed. This system consists of three parts: data acquisition and transmission subsystem, intelligent orchard management information subsystem, application terminal subsystem, and will achieve multifunction precise management of the orchard such as accurate positioning of fruit trees, collection & detection of orchard environmental information, agricultural information management, intelligent decision of orchard management, orchard production and process traceability etc. The system can organically link PCs with the orchard management agencies, managers, consumers, constantly share the big data, and promote the epoch-making upgradation of the fruit industry.1
INTRODUCTION
Indifference usage of a large amount of chemical fertilizers in some orchards results in many problems such as high environmental pressure, low production efficiency and poor fruit quality. Therefore, Under the background of "Internet +" and of big data Era, the precise and intelligent management of fruit trees in different orchards or the same orchard has become a hot and difficult issues in modern fruit industry development. There have been some primary explorations about orchard monitoring node design by Zigbee technology [1,2], the digital orchard system establishment with RFID identification [3], and the orchard digital management system [4]. However, there were no any ideas at all in these systems to organically

couple Zigbee/RFID technologies for orchard Accurate management. Their service object is mainly orchards in plain. Those of information collection, transmission and management [4] do not applied well to the southern mountain orchard.
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a non-contact automatic identification two-way communication technology that can perform target recognition and exchange data. Its application field is increasingly widespread[5]. ZigBee is a short-distance low-speed transmission wireless network protocol. Compared with Bluetooth, infrared, Wi-Fi and other wireless communication methods, ZigBee technology has significant advantages in communication distance, transmission stability and networking capabilities with low power consumption and low cost. The large-scale planting of mountain orchards requires comprehensive monitoring of multiple areas and many fruit trees. Therefore, Zigbee has become an optimal selection technology for environmental information detection and wireless network transmission in orchards[1].
However, the design of the orchard precision management system based on Zigbee/RFID coupling technology has rarely been reported so far. This article will design a Zigbee / RFID technology for mountain orchard precision management system which provides data support for real-time accurate management of the orchard And protection based on RFID electronic tag precision positioning navigation technology and ZigBee network capacity, especially the feature of the distance between network nodes can be expanded indefinitely.
DESIGN IDEAS
This research will integrate RFID/Zigbee technology with wireless sensor network technology, data warehouse, data mining technology and cloud computing to develop an intelligent orchard management system in the context of big data. The orchard navigation can be realized by establishment of the electronic label calibration of the fruit trees and the orchard electronic label map. The control center backstage integrates the orchard management system, the regional monitoring system, the decision feedback system, the expert system, the information sharing system, etc. Finally the system realizes the orchard accurate management.
SYSTEM NETWORKING DESIGN
Data Acquisition and Transmission Subsystem
ORCHARD PRECISE POSITIONING AND NAVIGATION
Because of the poor signal and positioning accuracy of GPS, RFID is chosen to precisely position and navigate the orchard machinery. Each fruit tree in the orchard is calibrated and positioned on electronic map by RFID tags and achieve high accuracy position and navigation in the orchard.
FRONT-END DATA COLLECTION
The underlying terminal equipment includes a variety of environmental sensors, RFID electronic tags, wireless acquisition modules (connecting various sensors), wireless control modules, Zigbee data transmission modules, etc., which are installed around the fruit trees. It mainly collects, analyzes, processes, stores and forwards basic information such as fruit tree growth environment and farming operations, and can also receive control commands issued by the control center to achieve real-time detection and precise management of fruit tree production. Key technologies for this research include: optimized design of wireless acquisition modules (connecting various sensors), Zigbee coordinator and sensor node design.
Smart Orchard Management Information System
DEVELOPMENT OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION PLATFORM
The management platform device includes a database server, a streaming media server, an SMS server, and the like. Their task includes real-time viewing of collected information, historical query, data storage in intelligent analysis, diagnostic expert system, and technical communication. So there are four subsystem platforms should be developed. They are information processing platform, management information platform, decision support platform and intelligent expert platform.
ORCHARD MANAGEMENT AND INTELLIGENT DECISION MAKING
APPLICATION TERMINAL SYSTEM
Android smartphone and various smartphone-based application terminals are constantly being born. Android development technology is becoming more and more mature. It lays a technical foundation for developing orchard management systems. At present, some enterprises and institutions have begun to study the orchard management APP software based on Android smartphone[4]. The design of the intelligent orchard management system based on Android smartphone has yet to be further researched. It will be developed and achieve national monitoring, real-time transmission of orchard information and orchard as well as big data sharing.
It is convenient for the orchard manager and the regional agriculture manager to check the relevant orchard information at any time, to understand the specific situation of the orchard growth, and to improve the efficiency of the orchard production. The design of the agricultural smart management APP software on the Android smartphone has also been researched and achieved certain development and progress.
SYSTEM FUNCTION DESIGN
The data acquisition system installed around the fruit trees completes the collection, analysis, processing and storage of basic information such as the growth environment of fruit trees and farming operations. Zigbee wireless transmission technology uploads them to the orchard management information system for data processing and classification to form big data and further uploads them to cloud computing. Almost at the same time, the big data is integrated and the corresponding intelligent management analysis is provided for the orchard management system, which realizes the “Internet+” orchard management mode of multi-user participation and data sharing, and realizes the safe traceability of the orchard production through the data in the database. Through the electronic label calibration of the fruit trees, the orchard electronic label map is established to realize the navigation of the orchard machinery and equipment; The control center backstage can provide the necessary data support and assurance through integrating the orchard management system, the regional monitoring system, the decision feedback system, the expert system and the information sharing system, etc. Finally, the orchard precision management is achieved.
SYSTEM APPLICATION ADVANTAGE
