Quicken – Detailed Instructions

The procedure for accessing Quicken from the participant website differs slighting depending on whether or not you are accessing Quicken for the first time. Both procedures are illustrated below.

**Please note: Quicken is not compatible for Mac users at this time. For further assistance, please select the “Help” icon for an FAQ sheet.

Initial Quicken Download

To access Quicken from the participant website for the first time, follow the steps listed below:

1) Go to the “View Account” tab.

2) Select “Transaction History”.

3) Enter the desired date range and click the “Download to Quicken” icon.

Note: The Quicken Help button displaces a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to familiarize participants with differences between the participant website and Quicken transactions.

4) On the Welcome window, select the appropriate option to indicate whether or not you are a new Quicken user. For purposes of this procedure, we’ll select “I am new to Quicken”.

Note: If Quicken is not installed on your computer, Windows will prompt you to find or save the Quicken program file but it will not be able to open that file in the

application. If this happens, visit http://quicken.intuit.com/ where you can purchase and download a copy of Quicken.

5) The next window presents options for naming your Quicken data file. For this procedure, we’ll accept the default file name and location. If you want to use a different name and

location, select the second option.

6) The Quicken Product Registration displays next. We recommend that you register the

product at the first opportunity; otherwise, the registration window will continue to appear at regular intervals throughout each Quicken session.

7) Quicken displays the account confirmation window.

The window contains the following information:

Financial Institution The name of the Financial Institution (TPA) to which the account is registered.

Account Type Identifies the account type as Investment.

Account Number This ID identifies both the TPA and participant, and consists of a 3-character TPA ID, followed by a unique 8-character User ID. This ID does not use the participant’s Social Security number.

Do one of the following, then click “Continue”.

• If you have an existing Quicken account set up to track your retirement account, select “Use an existing Quicken account” and then select it from the list.

• If you do not have an existing Quick account, click “Create a new Quicken account” and type the account name. Defaults to “Investment at <TPA Name>”.

8) On the Additional 401(k) Information window, do the following:

a. Type the Employer Name.

b. Select Current Employer or Previous Employer.

c. Select My Account or My Spouse’s Account.

d. Click OK.

9) The One Step Update Summary displays update information. Click “Close”.

10) Quicken opens and displays the “Investing” tab, which includes the “Holdings” register and other information.

Subsequent Quicken Downloads

After the participant has accessed Quicken for the first time, the screen sequence for subsequent sessions appears as follows:

1) Go to the “View Account” tab.

2) Select “Transaction History”.

3) Enter the desired date range and click the “Download to Quicken” icon.

4) When the File Download window appears, do one of the following:

a. Click Save to save the Quicken session to your hard drive. After the file is saved, click Open to access the session.

b. Click Open to access Quicken directly without saving the session.

5) Quicken displays a message to indicate whether any new transactions are available for update to Quicken. Click “OK”.

6) The One Step Update Summary displays update information. Click “Close”.

Note: If the product has not yet been registered, the Quick Product Registration displays next.

7) The Quicken Setup Overview window displays. Participants can use this window to set up their accounts and view training videos.

Accessing Participant Website From Quicken

In addition to accessing Quicken from the website, participants can access the TPA’s URL directly from within Quicken. For example, if a participant has Quicken installed on their home computer, they can access the TPA’s URL from within Quicken using the following procedures:

1) In Quicken, Select “Online Center” from the “Online” menu.

2) Select your Financial Institution from the list and click the “Update/Send” button in the upper right corner.

3) The TPA’s logon page appears, allowing you to access your account on the website. After logging in, you will automatically be taken to the “Transaction History” page.

Contact Information

The Online Center also provides contact information for participants. This information is obtained and entered in the system during the initial setup and branding process.

Verifying Investment Holdings

If you wish to verify that investment holdings displayed in Quicken match the holdings on the website, do the following:

1) Go to the “View Account” tab.

2) Select “Transaction History” and access “Quicken” from the icon.

3) In Quicken, on the “Investing Overview” tab, select “Go to Full Portfolio” under “Options”.

4) Compare the Quicken Full Portfolio window with the Investment Summary to verify that the account holdings are identical.
