Preparing
your
server
Completethefollowingstepsto prepareyourserver.
1. Readthesafetyinformationbeginningonpage v,“Installationguidelines”on page 3,and“Handlingstatic-sensitivedevices”onpage3.
2. Shutdowntheserveroperating system. 3. Turn offtheserveranddisconnectallcables.

Removing
the
covers,
bezel,
and
feet
Completethefollowingstepsto removethecovers, bezel,andfeetfromyour server.
1. Removetheleft-sidecover.
a. Unlock,open, andremovetheserverdoor,if necessary;then,locatethe cover-releaselatchonthefrontoftheserver.

If yourproblemcanberesolvedwithaCustomerReplaceableUnit(“CRU”)(e.g., keyboard,mouse,speaker,memory,harddiskdrive),IBMwillship theCRUtoyou for youtoinstall.
If theMachinedoes notfunction aswarrantedduringthewarranty periodandyour problem cannotberesolvedoverthetelephoneorelectronically,throughyour applicationofMachineCodeorsoftwareupdates,orwithaCRU,IBMor your reseller, ifapproved byIBMto providewarrantyservice,willeither,at itsdiscretion, 1) repairitto makeitfunctionaswarranted,or2)replaceit withonethatisat least functionallyequivalent.
