1 INTRODUCTION
To ensure that you receive optimal performance from your Web application we recommend that you run it on a hardware and software system that matches or exceeds the highest specifications in this System Requirements document.
As with all system requirements, it is only possible to give guidelines based upon the environment that the application will be used within. Server hardware specifications for three different environments, based on the number of concurrent users and companies maintained, are shown. There are also differences in the client software requirements, depending on whether update access or read-only access is needed.
Our recommended options are highlighted in bold.
Note: This information is provided only as a guideline. Suitable configuration of software and hardware will depend on individual circumstances. Formal recommendations can only be given upon detailed analysis of requirements.
Although the application will run with the minimum specifications shown below, it will not provide optimal performance, so we strongly recommend that the highest specifications are adopted: system performance may be adversely affected by unsuitable software or hardware. There are many other factors which can affect performance, such as the number of companies maintained within the application and the performance of LAN or WAN networks.

1.8.3 Notes
Notes O ne Wo rld We b O nl in e W e b G lo ba lVi e w1 We strongly recommend that the Web Server and the Database Server are installed on separate machines and that these machines are not shared with any other software.
2 Disk Drive sizes for Blueprint GlobalView can be halved from 36 GB to 18 GB and 73 GB to 36 GB respectively.
3 Excessive disk IO on physical host hardware running virtual instances will, to a greater or lesser extent, have an adverse impact on Blueprint performance.
4 Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g can also be configured on non-Windows servers
5 The Document Indexing/Searching feature requires the installation of an additional database component:
SQL Server environment Full Text Searching is part of the SQL Server 2000/2005 SQL Server database software, but is not installed by default, so clients will need to ensure that this is installed for it to work in Blueprint.
Oracle environment InterMedia component for Oracle 8i and Oracle Text for Oracle 9i and 10g are not installed by default, so clients will need to ensure that the appropriate component is installed within Oracle for it to work in the application.
6 We suggest that defragmentation software is considered for workstations and servers that
are heavily used, but this is not a requirement.
7 The application can be configured to use LDAP with Active Directory to query the global address list.
8 ASPUpload is not applicable to Blueprint GlobalView.
9 ActivePDF Server
For ActivePDF Server 2009 SR1 onwards requires Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 installed, and this is included on the installation CD.
For ActivePDF Server v3.8 onwards requires Microsoft .NET framework v2.0 to be installed, and this is included on the installation CD.
10 Blueprint Web Image (Charts & Gauges) requires Microsoft .NET framework v2.0 to be installed, and this is included on the installation CD.
Internet Information Services (IIS) v6 or higher needs to be available - Windows 2003 Server or above.
11 No Update Access for Blueprint GlobalView.
12 Adobe Acrobat v6.0 has minimum requirements for certain operating systems.
13 ActivePDF DocConverter (APDC) requires Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 installed, and
this is included on the installation CD. Also Microsoft Office 2010 must be installed beforehand on the APDC server.
13 Adeptol - Server Based Viewer - Professional Edition.
14 Web Server – O/S Supported – we only test the application on the latest Service Pack of
each supported O/S.
15 Web Server – O/S Supported – If clients are using Microsoft Windows Server 2003, we
expect the latest service pack to be installed and will need MSXML 6 installed prior to the installation/upgrade of the application.
1.9 Summary of changes made in the November 2012 System Requirements
The following changes have been made since last System requirements document dated March 2011.1.3 Server software requirements

1.8.2 Client software requirementsUnder Word Processor, Other Supported we have REMOVED Microsoft Word 97 or higher (Microsoft Word 2000 must be SR1 or higher) and now state, Microsoft Word 2000 SR1 or higher.
1.8.3 Notes
Added new note 14: Web Server – O/S Supported – we only test the application on the latest Service Pack of each supported O/S.
Added new Note 15: if clients are using Microsoft Windows Server 2003, we expect the latest service pack to be installed and will need MSXML 6 installed prior to installation/upgrade of the application.
This information is given as a guideline. Configuration of software and hardware will depend on individual circumstances. Formal recommendation can only be given upon analysis of requirements. Note: The system performance may be adversely affected by unsuitable software or hardware.
