Preface
The test system TS8997 covers the regulatory test of wireless devices in the 2.4 GHz and 5
GHz band according to the new standards ETSI EN 300 328 v1.8.1 and ETSI EN 301 893
v1.7.1. It is controlled by EMC32, the Rohde & Schwarz System Software for EMC
measure-ments on 32 and 64-bit operating systems from Microsoft (Windows XP, Windows Vista,
Win-dows 7). It provides a common user interface for Emission Measurements (EMI), Susceptibility
Measurements (EMS) and an Application Interface Macro language for general purpose which
is designed to operate like a virtual instrument. It combines the convenience of an intuitive
graphical user interface according to the actual Windows standards with the maximum
flexibil-ity both for support of measurement devices and for running EMC measurements.
This manual should guide and support the user during his first experience with EMC32 software. There-fore the manual provides step by step procedures from software installation and configuration to the first EMC measurement using figures and examples.
A detailed description of the installation procedure is provided in the manual "Installation Guide" which is available in printed form and in electronic form on the CD.

3.1 Check for factory calibration data
In the OSP Power Meter configuration it is possible to check for the factory calibration data if the OSP Firmware is at least 2.51. The TS8997 OSP must be switched to Physical in the Device List. If the OSP have no factory calibration a additional manual calibration is necessary otherwise you can skip the manual calibration steps.
