Where can I see the outages and capabilities on a certain day?
Video Explanation Part 1 (How to view forecasted outages on a certain day via the Daily Operating Plan?) Video Explanation Part 2 (How to view Historical Flows and Capability via the Daily Operating Plan?)
The easiest way to see outages on a specific date is using the Chart view. The Chart will be set to the current publication, but this can be changed using ‘Publication’ dropdown. The Chart displays forecasted capabilities and outages up to 6 months in the future and historical flows and capabilities up to 6 months in the past.
To view outages and capabilities find the desired date on the X axis of the graph and hover over the graph at that time. A popup will display all outage information at that time. Clicking in the graph will bring up more information about any outages occurring at the time.

11
What is the MAP view and how do I use it?
The purpose of the Outage Map view is to show a current day snapshot of areas and their forecasted outages in a single view.
The Map view can be accessed through the top navigation:
The map is broken up into 7 zones, indicated by their colors. • USJR: Upstream James River
• OSDA: Oil Sands Delivery Area • NEDA: North and East Delivery Area • EGAT: East Gate
• FHBC: Foothills BC • WGAT: West Gate
• FHSK: Foothills Saskatchewan
Each zone has an information card showing the outages for the current publication date, the next 30 days, after 30 days and the current Base Operational Capability.
Clicking on a zone will navigate to the LIST view for that zone.
Note: Local outages are not shown on the map view, but the number of local outages is displayed in the top right corner.
12
What is the CHART view and how do I use it?
The purpose of the Outage Charts view is to provide a holistic view of capability across all major areas (USJR, AB/BC (WGAT+FHBC), EGAT, OSDA), and to connect you to the outages driving those capabilities with one click.
The CHART view can be accessed through the top navigation:
The chart is broken down into 4 major areas, indicated by their colors, referenced on the legend located at the top of the chart. Clicking on items in the legend will toggle that areas visibility on the chart.
• USJR: Upstream James River • AB/BC: West Gate and Foothills BC • EGAT: East Gate
• OSDA: Oil Sands Delivery Area
Each chart displays the actual flow, the historical flow, and contracts for each area (where applicable). The visibility of these can be toggled by clicking on them.
The blue dotted line present on each area’s chart indicates the Compared To date to the current DOP you are viewing (Publication date).
Daily Operating Plan
13
The PUBLICATION and COMPARED TO can be changed using the dropdowns in the top left corner to see how the DOP has changed over time.
Moving the cursor over the chart, will display a line and popup that will follow the cursor as you move it across the chart. The pop-up shows the current impact for each area based on the position of the cursor on the chart by date.
Clicking on any area of the chart will display any planned outages at that time on the right side in a drawer. You can close the planned outages by clicking outside of the drawer or by clicking on the >> icon in the top left of the drawer.
14
How do I change what is displayed on the chart?
To change what areas are displayed on the chart click on the legend for that area. This toggles the visibility of areas on and off.
To change which flows and contracts are displayed on the chart click on the legend for that item. This toggles their visibility on and off.
To change what date the graph is showing and what it is compared to use the ‘Publication and‘Compare to’ dropdowns.
Why is there a gap in data on the chart?
On a leap year, the charts will show a break in the historical flows where there is no data. Actual flows will display information for February 29th, whereas historical flows will show a break where February 29th didn't exist the previous year. The inverse will be reflected when last year was a leap year.

What is the LIST view and how do I use it?
The purpose of the Outage List view is to provide full list of outages and their details which have been updated since the last publishing date of the DOP.
The List view can be accessed through the top navigation:
The List summary view displays a summary card for all areas. This card shows the current Publication outages, outages in the next 30 days, and after 30 days.
Clicking on VIEW ALL in the top right corner will display a detailed list of all outages in the NGTL system, grouped by area, similar to the old DOP.
Clicking on VIEW SUMMARY in the top right corner will change the view to the back to the summary view.
In the individual area view or in the detailed view for all areas the Base Operational Capability is listed including the date range that it is projected for.
Clicking on the Icon beside Impact and Local Area Impact will provide more information about how each is calculated. Changes to outages since the last published date are indicated by a blue Changed square on the outage.
16
How are impacts calculated?
The Impact is calculated by subtracting the Outage Capability from the Base Operational Capability for the month that the outage takes place in, i.e. The outage takes place in December 2020 - the Impact shown will be the Base Operational Capability for December minus that particular outage's Outage Capability.
The Local Area Impact is calculated by subtracting the Local Area Outage Capability from the Area Base Capability for that particular outage, i.e. The outage has an Area Base Capability of 187,000 and the Local Area Outage Capability is 186,000. This means the Local Area Impact is 1,000.
