Every month for over fi ft een years, twenty or more Bell Mortgage employees plan a menu, shop for groceries and prepare and serve a meal at Simpson Housing Services, whose mission is to house, support and advocate for people experiencing homelessness. In 2005, the company took its service commitment to a whole new level with the donation and grand opening of the Bell House at 2100 Pillsbury Ave S. in Minneapolis. Th e Bell House, a long-anticipated change of scenery for Simpson’s administrative staff , is a multipurpose, classic turn-of-the-century residence donated to Simpson Housing Services by Bell Mortgage and the Kirt Family. www.simpsonhousing.org

Simpson Housing Services moved into its new offi ce space, the Bell House, at 2100 Pilsbury Avenue South in Minneapolis, in the spring of 2005. Th e three-story mansion was donated to Simpson by Gary Kirt of Bell Mortgage, and houses the administrative and programming staff of the agency. Th e Simpson staff is extremely excited to be in the new, spacious, and beautiful home and more eff ective and hospitable work environment allows staff to focus on the needs of those they serve.
Bell Mortgage President, Gary Kirt was a “club kid” and has experienced fi rst-hand the benefi ts of the Boys and Girls Club as a teenager. Th at experience has fueled his passion for supporting the Clubs. In addition to donating countless hours of service, he has served on the Board of Directors since 1979. Fund-raisers, gift -campaigns and
renovations at Camp Voyageur in Mound, MN have been a consistent priority at Bell. Th e camp gives many inner city children their fi rst opportunity to get out of the city and enjoy the activities like arts and craft s, and the outdoors. Bell also gave a $100,000 donation to the Jerry Gamble Boys and Girls Club in the heart of North Minneapolis. Th e donation will be used to build a Kids Feeding Kids kitchen which provides club kids with a family-style meal four evenings per week. www.bgcmn.org

We are proud to partner with Bell Mortgage to recognize your company’s 130th anniversary in 2010 and to highlight the company’s interest in historic properties to inspire others to invest in our work. Th anks to the help of Gary Kirt and Bell Mortgage, a 65-foot-long muskie on Highway 2 in Bena, Minnesota is about to come off the state’s list of 10 Most Endangered Historic Places. Created in the 1950’s, the fi sh was originally known as the Big Muskie Drive-In. Th is fi sh was even named one of the states seven wonders. Aft er learning of the fi sh’s near extinction, Bell donated the funds and even helped hire the crews to rebuild and repaint the fi sh.”
