Summary –
The primary purpose of this position is to assist People Driven Credit Union in living our values to be Proactive, Knowledgeable, Consistent, Accountable, and Consultative. The individual in this role works towards
achieving our vision of anticipating, understanding and educating the needs of others because we are “People Driven.”
The Branch Manager has the responsibility of ensuring the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service and growth plans. As a member of the management team, the Branch Manager actively participates in the general management of the credit union. This team member strives to meet the needs of People Driven Credit Union members, ensuring they are promptly and professionally served.
Comply with the Credit Union’s policies and procedures to assist the Credit Union in remaining compliant with BSA/OFAC and other regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Other duties may be assigned.
• Branch Activities - Plan, direct, and control branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures, monitor building maintenance to provide a
comfortable work environment and a professional appearance, supervise the activities of the branch and branch personnel, ensuring that goals are met, and that members and employees are handled effectively and efficiently.
o Supervise the activities of the branch staff by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions, handing sensitive member
problems, explaining and enforcing policies and procedures to both staff and members.
o Ensure that staff is trained in all phases of job including identifying member solutions to improving their financial lives to ensure quality service to members.
o Evaluate the job performance of branch staff to ensure quality of work and service to members.
o Identify strengths and weaknesses and provide the resources to strengthen skills.
o Responsible for adequately maintaining and safely securing all currency, coin and negotiable instruments in branch.
o Ensure daily balancing of transactions and all cash.
o Conduct all monthly audits as directed and required.
o Ensure that the Branch image is favorable by providing a clean and pleasant environment for members both inside and outside of the branch.
o Conduct administrative duties by maintaining adequate levels of cash, supplies and maintaining equipment.
o Direct deposit, lending and member service functions in accordance with policies and procedures.
o Utilize sales and service skills to coach and lead employees in cross-selling products and services.
• People Management - Develop a highly effective team of employees, developing each employee to their highest potential through coaching, leadership, and training. Promote a sales culture within the branch by example. Coach and develop employees to identify cross sales opportunities.
• Meet the Needs of our Members: Provide informed, professional and accurate service and support to all members. Counsel members with financial difficulties, resolve member complaints involving loan decisions or problems with their accounts. Anticipate, understand, and educate based on the needs of members.
• Communication: Work with others to confirm members have the knowledge and resources available to meet their financial goals with a good understanding of product and services available from the credit union. Help to maintain effective communication with our members. Ensure that good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and with management.
• Day to Day Activities: Prepare for the day and assist others in their preparation. Maintain customer flow, ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained and perform Teller and Member Service Representative tasks as needed. Provides information and assistance to members, resolves member problems. Prepare and accurately complete various reports and projects as required. Serve as the branch security officer to ensure safety of staff and members.
• Promote a positive image of the credit union: Represent the branch as appropriate in its relationship with members, organizations, suppliers or other financial institutions. Participate in community, civic and other charitable events, as well as events with trade associations, legislators and regulators;
encourage participation of staff in such events. Ensure consistency of messaging and strengthen the credit union brand image.
Performance Measurements –
1. Branch policies and practices ensure that financial objectives, goals and growth are met while meeting member’s needs.
2. Communication and reporting activities are coordinated to ensure availability of data for efficient daily operations.
3. Staff are appropriately directed, assisted, and supported.
4. Good business relations exist with members. Members' problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved.

Education:
• A two year college degree and/or, completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or completion of extensive in-house training.
Experience:
• Two to five years of similar or related experience in a branch office of a credit union or financial institution required.
Required Knowledge:
• A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
• Work will involve motivating and influencing others. Must have proven abilities to handle conflict resolution.
• Strives to improve managerial and technical skills through appropriate educational and training opportunities.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong member service orientation, with a passion for delivering superior service/results
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Tech savvy with proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Mental Demands:
This position requires the team member to make decisions in a timely and efficient manner and anticipate all of the potential ramifications of the decisions made.
The team member must be able to develop, recommend, and implement financial policies and procedures and be able to analyze the work-flow of the Credit Union on a continuous basis and make changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
The team member must be able to read and interpret documents or instruments, understand / follow complex written and oral instructions, make decision and to resolve problems or unique circumstances, be able to express oneself clearly/concisely, perform mathematical functions, and handle multiple, concurrent tasks.
