Here’s How It Works.
You are eligible to participate in the Sony GSA Sales Support Rebate if you have been offered and agreed to the terms and conditions of Rider G to your 2008 Sony Reseller Agreement.
Your 2% to 5% rebate credit will only apply to purchases that you ship and invoice directly to the Federal government under and in accordance with Sony’s GSA contract. Orders directly received, shipped and invoiced by Sony under its GSA contract will not qualify for the rebate.

To be eligible for the rebate, purchase orders must be dated between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009 and be shipped by you by the latter date. Claims must be submitted to www.sony.com/yourprogramconnection within 30 days of the close of the month in which the products were shipped by you.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What is a "Rider G"?
Rider G is an attachment to Sony’s Reseller Agreement with certain authorized Resellers. Rider G permits the authorized Reseller to use Sony's GSA Schedules in selling products to the Federal government.
The Rider G requires the Reseller to: (1) accept the pricing and terms provided in Sony's GSA Schedule for sales to the Federal government which reference the GSA Schedule, (2) report such sales to Sony each month, and (3) meet an annual Minimum Purchase Requirement for such sales in order to be considered for a Rider G next year. In addition, the Rider G specifies a sales support rebate to Resellers on reported sales (excluding sales of professional and data media which are covered by a separate marketing program) which for this year is 2% to 5% in accordance with this program.
Current GSA pricing is updated can be located on SNAP two times a month.
Does the Sony Product need to be sold at the GSA Catalog price to receive the 2% rebate?
No. Sony will pay the 2% to 5% rebate based on Reseller’s net invoiced price to the Federal Government as long as the product’s invoice price is not above the published GSA contract price.
If a Reseller does not have a Rider G, does that mean they can't sell to the Federal government?
Without a Rider G, a Reseller can sell products to the Federal government on an "open market basis". This occurs with most bid responses. However, the Reseller cannot reference or take advantage of Sony's GSA contract for such sales.
If a Reseller can sell to the Federal government without a Rider G, why might a Rider G be desirable?
The Federal government often wants to purchase using a seller’s GSA Schedule(s) in order to avoid a lengthy bid process for each purchase. This is especially true for smaller purchases. The GSA Schedule provides the buyer and seller with pre-negotiated pricing and terms.
Can a Reseller profit on GSA Schedule sales?
Yes. In most cases the Reseller’s margin on GSA Schedule sales is similar to that for commercial sales. Other differences for GSA Schedule sales are:
(i) Reseller must absorb the shipping cost to the end user and
(ii) Reseller is eligible to receive a 2% to 5% administrative rebate from Sony on most GSA Schedule sales (except as noted above for media).
If a Reseller doesn't want the 2% to 5% rebate, does it still need to report all such sales to Sony?
Yes. In order for Sony to comply with the terms of its contract with the GSA, Sony is required to report all GSA Schedule sales, including those by its authorized Resellers with a Rider G. Therefore, Sony requires its Resellers with a Rider G to report all GSA Schedule sales on a monthly basis.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS-CONTINUED
Does a Reseller still have to file a monthly report even if sales are zero?
Yes. In accordance with the terms and conditions of the GSA contract and the Resellers Rider G, a monthly report must be filed even if sales are zero.
If a Reseller maintains its own GSA Schedule, can Sony's products be included on it?
At the present time, Sony does not permit its products (except some IT products) to be included on a Reseller’s GSA schedule. Instead, Sony prefers to authorize Resellers to use Sony's own GSA Schedules through a Rider G.
When SNAP publishes GSA pricing, can a reseller sell all of those products to the government?
No, SNAP shows the complete Government price list; however, if a reseller does not have a Reseller Agreement with a schedule covering a certain product then it can not re-sell the products to the Government.
Where can copies of Sony’s current GSA Schedule, including terms and conditions and up-to-date pricing information, be found?
Copies of Sony’s GSA Schedules and pricing are available online at www.sony.com/gsa and pricing is updated around the first and fifteenth of each month. The first few pages after the table of contents in each PDF file describe the terms relating to scope, minimum order, maximum order, FOB, etc. For additional questions, please contact Sony’s GSA Contract Manager at 201-930-6610.
What happens if there are other manufacturer's products or incidental (open market) items in the supporting documentation?
When a reseller submits a claim the supporting documentation must be accurate. A reseller will not be paid for products not on GSA contract. Any items on a purchase order that are not on the Sony GSA must be clearly marked. If there are other manufacturer's products on the purchase order, they must be noted with the respective GSA contract number. In the case of open market items on the purchase order, "open market" should be noted next to the model description.
