Spring JTT Section Championships Dates

 10U Orange Ball & 10U Green Ball Divisions: May 13th

 12U Green Ball &12U Yellow Ball Divisions: May 20th – 21st

 14U Coed Divisions: May 20th – 21st

Registration Deadlines:

Team/Captain Registration Deadline: Sunday, March 5th

Player Registration Deadline: Monday, March 13th

o A team must have the minimum number of players rostered by March 13th o Additional players can sign up anytime during the season prior to their first match o USTA NorCal JTT Registration Fee is $17 per player

Age Divisions / Rosters / Court Requirements

(10U) Orange Ball Division (Gender Neutral):

o 4 Players min. / 2 Courts

(10U) Green Ball Division (Gender Neutral):

o 4 Players min. / 2 Courts

(12U) Green Ball Division (Gender Neutral):

o 4 Players min. / 2 Courts

(12U) Yellow Ball Division (Gender Neutral):

o 4 Players min. / 2 Courts

(14U) Coed Division

o 4 Players min. (2 boys & 2 girls) / 3 Courts

(18U) Girls Only Division

o 4 players minimum / 3 Courts

Player Eligibility:

 Must be a current USTA member through the end of the season (5/31/17)

 Must be age eligible through the end of the season (5/31/17)

10 and Under – Participation Rules/Eligibility

o Any player aged 10 and under can play in a 10U Orange, 10U Green, 12U Green, or 12U Yellow JTT league/division during the local season

o Players will only earn Youth Progression participation stars in the 10U Divisions o Players at the Orange and/or Green Level in the Youth Progression system cannot play

on a 12U division team at the JTT Section Championships if they qualify

 In addition – The players cannot play in a 14U division locally or at JTT Sectionals o Players that have completed their USTA Youth Progression requirements are listed as

“Mission Complete” online and are eligible to play in any age division/Sectionals event

 2 courts required per match

 4 Players minimum required per team/match

o Any combination of boys and girls, goal is to have at least 1 boy or 1 girl at every match

 If a team has 3 players, the #4 singles and #4 doubles match are defaulted

 If a team has 2 players, it is an entire team default

 4 total singles and 4 total doubles matches per team match (Four - 20 minute timed rounds) o 1 singles match and 1 doubles match per round

 4 game short set, no ad scoring

o Play to completion of the set or until 20 minutes is called, whichever comes first o No tiebreaker played at 3-3, one more full game is played

 Players should play singles matches (1-4) according to strength determined by coach o Players cannot play singles more than once per team match

o Cooperative line up exchanges based on strength order

Total games won determines the overall team match score

 If a team has 2 players, it is an entire team default

14U Yellow Ball Divisions

(14U) Yellow Ball – Coed Division: - Advanced and Intermediate*

 3 courts required per match

 4 players minimum (2 boys and 2 girls minimum)

o (USTA recommends not to bring more than 6 players (3 boys and 3 girls) to a match to ensure each player can play twice during the team match)

 If a team has 3 players, 1 singles and 1 doubles match are defaulted

 You would play 1 singles and 1 doubles match per round in this case

 If a team has 2 players, it is an entire team default

 6 game set, no ad scoring. Tiebreak played at 6-6 (no timed matches)

 4 doubles matches and 4 singles matches per team match o Round 1 – 1 Girls Doubles and 2 Boys Singles matches o Round 2 – 1 Boys Doubles and 2 Girls Singles matches o Round 3 – 2 Doubles Matches

 Emphasis is playing 2 mixed doubles matches in round 3. However boys or girls doubles matches can be played instead of mixed doubles if both coaches agree prior to the match based on the amount of boys/girls participating in the match that day

 1 extra exhibition match (singles or doubles) can be played on the remaining open court in round 3 if both coaches agree and there are extra players available. This match will not count towards the standings and will not be reported online in TennisLink

Total games won determines the winner

 Players should play singles matches according to strength determined by coach o Cooperative line up exchanges based on strength order

 Players cannot play singles more than once per team match

18U - Yellow Ball Divisions

(18U) Girls Division

 4 players minimum and recommended maximum of 6 players per team match

 1 - 6 game set per round, no ad scoring, tiebreak played at 6-6

 4 doubles matches and 4 singles matches per team match o Round 1 – 1 doubles and 2 singles matches o Round 2 – 1 doubles and 2 singles matches o Round 3 – 2 doubles matches

 Players should play singles matches according to strength determined by coach

Total games won format determines the team match winner

 No player can play singles more than once during a team match

 3 courts required per match

o Matches played in 3 rounds

Defaults: If a team has 3 players, you will adjust the format to play 1 singles and 1 doubles match per round. Overall you will default a total of 1 singles match and 1 doubles match.

o If a team only has 2 players, it is an entire team match default.
