Adoption of an EHR
Few providers today have a dynamic inventory and understanding of data sources, characteristics, uses, access requirements and flow of information.
Without this providers will be unable to establish and enforce consistent policies across the enterprise.
As a result, digital systems will continue to promulgate the same redundancies and inefficiencies evident in paper.
e-Health/Population Health
“e-Health is the use of digital information and
communication technologies to improve people’s health and health care. The increasing use of technologies,

e-Discovery
"Govern your information before your information governs you!"
"A fully developed information governance strategy will reduce at source the risk, cost and volume of data in future eDiscovery exercises. Get it right and you get a measure of control. Get it wrong and your data controls you, and it becomes expensive."

electronic memory, or as facts stored in a person's mind. • Databases are a collection of data with a specific well
“Overcoming deficiencies in correct disease management will require nothing less than a transformation of
healthcare from a system that is essentially reactive,
responding when a person is sick, to one that is proactive and focused on keeping a person as healthy as possible.”

The Tip of the Iceberg
• July 13, 2013 HHS through ONC issued the final rule providing details on an initial set of standards,
specifications and criteria for EHR technology.
• HITECH requires the demonstration of meaningful use of “certified technology” in order for organizations to qualify for incentive payments.
