3. Immediately a pop up approval notification appears.
4. The Patient’s ledger is automatically updated with the confirmation number in the payment’s memo field.
5. MDsuite automatically emails the Patient a payment confirmation receipt.
6. Typically, payments are deposited into your bank account the next day.

I already have a Merchant Account – can I use it?
No. You must use a merchant account specifically for this purpose. That same merchant account can be used for manual charge cards in your office. The rate for this merchant account is very competitive and often less than your current merchant account. Additional benefits include next day funding, free online reporting, and consolidated reporting of all card types onto one statement.
What credit cards can be used?
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Are funds available to me immediately?
For credit cards, yes. The status of electronic checks will be set to Pending in MDsuite until they clear. MDsuite periodically updates pending checks to either make them available for posting or rejected.
Can I process checks too?
Yes, you have the option to use the online payment processing portal to process checks.
What happens if a check doesn’t clear?
The rejection message will be shown in MDsuite. You can contact the patient to alert them.
What type of card reader do I need?
To swipe cards in the office, you will need a MagTek USB Swipe Reader. You can find and purchase these online.
Can my patients pay their bills online?
Yes, using MDsuite ePayments you can generate statements online and allow patients to pay their balance. There is an additional fee for this feature, and it does require some setup. For more

Do I need to have a patient portal?
Yes, for statements to be paid over the web. Patient statements contain Personal Health Information (PHI) and MDsuite’s Connect2Us patient portal allows these statements to be viewed in a HIPAA-compliant fashion. The portal is not needed if you only wish to accept credits cards in the office or over the phone.
Is there a charge for ePayments?
There are no ongoing charges. You must have Connect2Us running either off of your own website or a website dedicated to it.

How do I use ePayments for charge cards within the office?
You must have a MagTek USB Swipe Reader. If ePayments is enabled, then Post Patient Payments and QuickPay allow for either a card swipe or the entry of credit card information taken over the phone. Do I need to actually print statements any longer?
You may set an indicator in MDsuite stating that the patient wants eStatements only. Statements will not be printed for these patients.
Can I print a different statement for patients to view on the portal? Yes. You may choose (or format) a separate statement for web viewing. How do I get started?
