About Girlguiding Anglia

Girlguiding Anglia is one of the nine Countries and Regions of Girlguiding, the UK’s leading charity for girls and young women. The Region covers the following counties – Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire South, Norfolk, Oxfordshire and Suffolk.

We are dedicated to enabling girls and young women to develop their potential and to make a difference in the world. Guiding offers girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, build friendships, gain valuable skills and make a positive difference to their communities. Our dedicated volunteers run over 3800 Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section groups throughout our twelve guiding counties. Girlguiding Anglia is a volunteer-led organisation, with all employees working for and with all of our members. The policy and decisions regarding the running of the Region are made by the Region’s Trustees, who are all volunteers.

Although part of Girlguiding, Girlguiding Anglia is autonomous as far as employment of staff and finance are concerned. At present the Region employs 14 full-time and 10 part-time staff members, all based on the Hautbois estate in Coltishall, and working across the administrative office, retail operation and activity centre teams.

About Hautbois Activity Centre

Hautbois Activity Centre, set in the Norfolk countryside, is an expert provider of outdoor adventures and opportunities for learning and discovery.

Owned by Girlguiding Anglia, Hautbois offers a wide range of outdoor activities and residential opportunities. Our customer base includes Guiding and Scouting, youth groups, schools and colleges, as well as corporate and private event bookings.

Set in a 28-acre woodland estate on the outskirts of Coltishall, indoor accommodation is provided at Hautbois House, a large twelve-bedroom house catering for residential groups of up to 45. In addition, Hautbois has seven campsites (with a maximum capacity of 350), plus a Yurt Village and over 25 adventurous outdoor activities, including

abseiling, climbing, archery and water activities on the River Bure.

Its work changes throughout the year with the main peak season running from April to October. There are currently 8 full-time and 2 part-time staff members, and other staff are employed as required during busy times.

The role of the Website Project Manager

Girlguiding Anglia is recruiting a Website Project Manager, part time, for a 12 month fixed term contract.

We are looking for someone with an enthusiastic and positive outlook to join our small staff team. The role will be based at the Girlguiding Anglia Office in Coltishall.

This is an exciting role for an experienced Project Manager with a passion for digital media.

You will have demonstrable experience of managing website development, including e-commerce, and be aware of relevant innovations in all digital channels and development methodologies, in order to successfully deliver the new Girlguiding Anglia group of websites.

Writing and editing copy will be key as well as being articulate and approachable and able to positively represent Girlguiding Anglia. You will build successful relations with external agencies and the project stakeholders; Girlguiding Anglia volunteers and staff. You will have a flexible and results oriented approach, be highly organised and an excellent problem solver and influencer able to plan, manage and deliver all aspects of the project.

The role will require occasional evening and weekend work and may involve travel within the Girlguiding Anglia Region on business as well as to Girlguiding Headquarters in London and possibly other Regions.

Working Hours: Part time - 20 hours per week, flexible Actual daily hours by arrangement

Salary: £15,429-£16,571 per annum (£27,000-£29,000 per annum pro rata) Duration: This role is anticipated to be for a fixed period of 12 months, however

Job Description

Role Purpose

The Project Manager will:

• Be responsible for managing, leading and delivering a project to develop and implement the new Girlguiding Anglia suite of websites, using current development methods

• Work closely with and manage an external agency to successfully deliver the project

Main areas of responsibility

• Deliver the Girlguiding Anglia website project to a high standard, on time and in budget, based on the agreed approach

• Effectively liaise with the point of contact at the appointed web development company to ensure the project progresses in line with the schedule and issues are dealt with promptly

• Work collaboratively with other staff and key volunteers from the Region team to review, develop and gather the websites’ product requirements, including reviewing and advising on content

• Create and regularly maintain project plans and documentation

• Produce updates, presentations, reports and other documents regarding the project for various audiences to specific deadlines/milestones

• Develop a website management and maintenance strategy to ensure the sharing of good practice and ongoing development of the websites

• To develop processes to ensure that the websites are updated, developed and maintained effectively on an ongoing basis

Knowledge and skills

• Experienced in project management, planning and delivery

• Have a track record work of working in and a passion for digital projects/ development, preferably using Wordpress

• Experience of working on projects that have used current development methods, e.g. agile

• Experience of introducing and implementing a successful e-commerce facility • Ability to work unsupervised, and to lead and drive projects to completion • Knowledge and understanding of the aims of Girlguiding

• Experience of budgetary management, control and monitoring

• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally, both face-to-face and remotely to achieve the project aims • Stakeholder management – ability to manage expectations, negotiate with and

influence key staff and volunteers

• Willing to accept personal responsibility for own work and workload, and to seek feedback when unsure

Project Management

• To deal with the wide ranging aspects within the remit of this project, including identifying and implementing solutions in conjunction with stakeholders.

• To act as product owner for the Girlguiding Anglia suite of websites during the project

• To act as the primary contact for liaison with the web development company to ensure requirement details and queries are dealt with and answered promptly • Help organise and facilitate development demonstrations relevant to the

stakeholders

• To ensure content is being reviewed and generated as appropriate

• Effectively plan the project and own workload to ensure that multiple tasks are completed within the agreed timescales

• Effective decision-making to make the most of resources in line with agreed requirements

Innovation

• Develop and recommend innovative ways of managing the project in order to achieve the best results for the Region

• Adopt a flexible approach to project development to allow a change in direction if necessary for the success of the project

• Develop a website strategy for implementation beyond the life of the project.

Other duties

• Implement the Region’s Health and Safety Policy and follow best practices in Health and Safety

• Build and maintain good working relationships with all colleagues and volunteers across Girlguiding Anglia

• Keep confidential all matters relating to Girlguiding Anglia, and in accordance with current legislation, including storage and release of data and images

• Ensure that the Region promotes a positive professional image at all times • Carry out any other duties which may reasonably be required to ensure that the

Contract Type

This post is a 12 month fixed term contract. Location

This role will be based at the Girlguiding Anglia Office, 7 Great Hautbois Road, Coltishall, Norwich, Norfolk, NR12 7JN.

There may be the requirement for you to travel within the Girlguiding Anglia Region on business as well as to Girlguiding Headquarters in London and possibly other Regions. Working Hours

20 hours per week – over 5 days - actual daily hours by arrangement.

The role holder should adopt a suitable working pattern that will meet the needs of the project.

There may be a requirement for occasional evening and weekend working. Line Manager

All new fixed term employees are required to serve a Probationary Period of 8 weeks. Holidays
