Transfer Information
If you are transferring to Mount Saint Mary’s University from a U.S. school, including high schools or language schools, you must have your SEVIS record released to Mount Saint Mary’s University by the school you are transferring from within 60 days of your completion of a course of study or completion of optional practical training. You are not permitted to remain in the U.S. unless you will begin classes at Mount Saint Mary’s University within 5 months of transferring out of the current school or within 5 months of the program completion date on your current Form I-2O, whichever is earlier. A Transfer Form will be sent to you upon your admission to Mount Saint Mary’s University and upon receipt of all required financial documentation. If your current F-I visa stamped or affixed to your passport is still valid, you do not have to apply for a new one in order to attend Mount Saint Mary’s University.

EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Before your I-20 form can be issued, you must prove that funds will be available to cover your school and living expenses in the U.S. Estimated tuition fees, books, supplies, housing, meals, insurance and personal expenses are listed below. Proof of financial responsibility will also be required at the time you apply for a student (1) visa at the United States (U.S.) consular post in your country of residence, or apply for a change of nonimmigrant status to F-I student in the U.S. You may be asked by a Mount Saint Mary's University Designated School Official (DSO) to provide additional proof of financial responsibility or to resubmit evidence of financial support, if documentation is dated more than nine months before the start of the term.

Request for Dependent I-20 for F-2 Status
This form is to be completed by F-1 students who wish to bring their spouse or children under 21 years if age to the United States to live with them while they are studying at Mount Saint Mary’s University or if they have F-2 dependent(s) and are transferring to MSMU. This form should not be completed if the spouse/child is planning to visit for a short time. The appropriate status for the purpose of a short-term visit is the B-1/B-2 tourist visa. Also, this form should not be completed for fiancées, parents, friends, or other relatives. Fiancées, parents, friends, and other relatives must also apply for the B-1/B-2 tourist visa in order to visit the United States.

Minimum Required Support for Dependents
Spouse: $7,500
The University estimates that the total additional cost of supporting a dependent spouse is $7,500. The minimum total required support for one year includes living expenses, plus the estimated cost of medical insurance. Because medical insurance plans vary in price, students should be aware that expenses could be considerably higher.

The University estimates that the additional cost of supporting each dependent is $7,500 for a spouse and $4,600 for a child.
