To whom it may concern,
I am writing in support of the Colorado Energy Plan. The time has come to place our support behind renewable energy. A misguided mindset, rooted in the past, will be an anchor that will sink our nation. Coal workers do not need jobs as coal workers. They need jobs (full stop). Doing right by them means helping them find jobs that will bring them a better quality of life. As we move steadily and surely foward, we have left them in limbo. Attempts to Superman the world backwards are futile and only serve to
preserve their limbo. Be advised that people are aware that protection of our dependency upon them serves no one aside from those who hold interests in fossil fuels.

I am writing in support of the Colorado Energy Plan. It is extremely important that we get our electricity from renewable sources. Renewable energy development is critical for our future in Colorado and will not only reduce carbon emissions but help rural economies.
Despite what our current President is touting, this is important for our future and to protect our environment.

Hello there,
Please save the Colorado Clean Energy Plan! Plans like this and continued renewable energy development are some of the important things we can do to fight climate change. I want Colorado to stay beautiful so that my children can enjoy it’s beauty as much as I do and investing in renewables and expanding their use is one of the best ways we can ensure this. Please support the Colorado Energy Plan. We in Colorado love our beautiful state. The more we can do to save our precious resources the better. We need to use our natural resources carefully. The sun and wind are free, clean resources that we can harness without destroying our wunderous state. Renewable energy is the smart solution to our needs. Please help us in making Colorado a more green state. Help us save the beauty that we all love and enjoy here in Colorado. As a native Coloradan, I would like to see Colorado lead the way to 100% renewable resource use.

Dear PUC:
I am writing this e-mail to express my support, as an Xcel customer, for Xcel’s Clean Energy Plan to, within the next five years, shut down two of the coal fired units at the Pueblo Comanche power plant and replace that coal with solar, wind and battery storage (and existing natural gas, although I’m not a big fan of the natural gas). As I understand it, there is an alternative plan that will take longer. I believe the sooner Xcel can implement the Clean Energy plan, the better for our environment. This
renewable energy, as you know, will be cheaper than what is currently provided to Xcel customers. Xcel also has a plan to provide a lot of jobs to the Pueblo area to replace those lost by the closure of the two units.
As I look at the Colorado sky this summer, I realize we now have a white cloud in addition to our brown cloud. The smoke from forest fires is only predicted to get worse. Our air pollution is only predicted to get worse as climate change causes more droughts in the West. We need to do everything that we can to combat this affront to our way of life, and air and water quality. We owe this to our children and
grandchildren. Please support Xcel’s Clean Energy Plan and implement it as soon as possible.
Thank you, Michele

My name is Riley Chapman, and I live in Golden, Colorado 80403. It is imperative that we move forward with the Colorado Energy Plan! I work with a solar company and I am fully in support of Xcel Energy sourcing their energy from cleaner sources. I heard that Xcel is looking to retire two coal plants in Pueblo and replacing them with
renewable sources and implementing battery storage.
This is not only beneficial for the future of our state - investing in technologies that do not contribute to pollution and depletion of Colorado's rescources, but also the good of the planet. Most Coloradans love the state so much because of our beautiful
landscapes and endless outdoor recreation opportunities. I can say for myself and many other residents that we support this plan and the protection of our natural environments!

I strongly support the Colorado Energy Plan's mission to develop a significantly cleaner energy mix and reduce carbon emissions in Colorado. As a life-long asthma sufferer, with an adult child who also suffers from asthma, the national push to step back from an emphasis on cleaner energy and retiring older coal plants has been disheartening and worrisome for the health consequences for everyone, but especially those with respiratory ailments. This summer I have found it necessary to restrict outside activity on numerous occasions. Ozone levels have been a concern, as well as particulate levels.
The commitment by Colorado to adopt cleaner energy sources and retire coal-fired plants is wonderful. Please continue to advance a clean energy future for our state.
