The Tandem programme of NUPS became a section of the Erasmus Student Network in January

2015. In the framework of the programme each incoming student is paired with a mentor (buddy) who provides assistance in all kinds of matters from everyday issues to student affairs. During your studies at NUPS the mentors will organise a wide range of leisure activities for you, in some cases together with students from other universities. These programmes usually include excursions to Lake Balaton and to popular tourist sites not far from the capital. You can also ask your buddy for advice on other activities and you are welcome to participate at the social events of the Students’ Union as well. The International Relations Office organises a welcome ceremony for incoming students each semester where international students of each faculty can get to know each other. The welcome ceremonies usually take place in mid-September and in mid-February giving opportunity to meet members of the University’s administrative staff supporting international mobility.

Preliminary programmes and activities organised by the ESN:

ͧ

Welcome Week during the first week of each semester

ͧ

Trip to Visegrád Castle

ͧ

FACULTY OF LAW ENFORCEMENT

About

15

Law enforcement officer training at the institution dates back to 1970 when the Police College was

established. Being the legal successor of the college, NUPS continues to be the sole higher educational institution in this field through the Faculty of Law

The Faculty’s high-level, top quality study programmes are aimed to train future professionals, commissioned officers, public servants and public officials for posts at organisations and institutions of law enforcement.

These trainings are supported by language and ICT labs and separate classrooms for special subjects. The Faculty of International and European Studies was established in February 2015 with the aim of becoming the principal institution for training future diplomats and experts of security and defence policy. The new Faculty’s programme portfolio is responding to current changes and challenges on the field of classical international relations and diplomacy. Considering that the values, methods and priorities of international cooperation and diplomacy are undergoing a dramatic change, fulfilling an international public service career is still a very attractive, however more and more difficult challenge for young talents. The Faculty is going to prepare candidates on these challenges due to its innovative education and research activity, as a first of its kind Faculty in the country.
