Product Notes

This section lists all the product-specific notes that may apply to the requirements information for Content Transformation Services. TheAppendix B, General Notessection lists notes that apply to all products.

The following are the product notes:

• x64 refers to the 64-bit architecture, which includes AMD64 and Intel 64.

• Content Transformation Services 7.2 provides separate installers for Advanced Document Transformation Services, Audio/Video Transformation Services, and Media Transformation Services.

• For Content Transformation Services web service running in an application server environment, all Java 6.0.x and 7.0.x versions supported by each web application server configuration are supported. No support for Java 1.5.x.

• Supports 64-bit version of web application server.

• Supports only 64-bit version of JDK.

• Supports Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Operating Systems.

• Third-party application support: English (recommended), and limited support of localized version.

• Supports the Web servers that are internal to the supported application servers.

• The Web server associated with an application server, whether internal or external, must also support chunked requests. This means that Web servers forward HTTP requests using chunked transfer encoding (as described in the HTTP/1.1 protocol) to the back-end application server. If chunked requests are not supported then the client should use "UCF Alternative Chunking"

mode. For details on configuring and using "UCF Alternative Chunking" mode, refer to the EMC Documentum Web Development Kit Development Guide.

• Supports only the following forward proxy configurations:

— Auto configuration script

— Explicitly specifying the proxy server (for example, the host and port)

— Auto detect settings, configured using ProxyCfg.exe (proxy configuration tool)

Chapter 9 Documentum Administrator System

Requirements

This chapter describes the environment and system requirements for the Documentum Administrator (DA) release.

Hardware Requirements

This section provides information on the hardware requirements.

Table 54. DA — Hardware Requirements (browser machine)

Item Requirement

CPU and Memory [1] WDK-based client applications need a client machine to run the supported software configurations listed in browser environment tables and whatever disk space, RAM, or CPU requirements specified by third-party products such as Microsoft Office.

Disk space [2] WDK-based client applications may install applets and JRE that require approximately 100 MB of free disk space. Additionally, you need sufficient free disk space to handle checked-out and cached documents.

[1] The amount of RAM that is available after taking into consideration all other RAM utilization requirements.

[2] You must have sufficient free disk space to handle temporary content transfer files, which can vary substantially from one enterprise to another.
