Documentum Foundation Services System Requirements
Product Notes
This section lists all the product-specific notes that may apply to the requirements information for Document Foundation Services. TheAppendix B, General Notessection lists notes that apply to all products.
The following are the product notes:
• If you use the JAX-WS library to build a custom service in Documentum Foundation Services, Java versions 1.7.x are not supported. In this case, you have to use Java versions 1.6.x as an alternative.
• x64 refers to the 64-bit architecture, which includes AMD64 and Intel 64.
• For Documentum Foundation Services running in a web application server environment, all Java 6.0.x and 7.0.x versions supported by each web application server configuration are supported.
No support for Java 1.5.x.
• Clustering is supported for a standalone Documentum Foundation Services server and requires sticky sessions.
• No clustering (or failover) support for Documentum Foundation Services installed with Content Server.
• Failover is supported for a standalone Documentum Foundation Services server provided that client applications do not use cached queries or registered service contexts.
• Failover is not supported for UCF operation, both DFS-orchestrated UCF and client-orchestrated UCF.
• Supports the 64-versions of Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11.
• Supports Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.
• In 6.7 SPx, clients using UCF .NET are not compatible with DFS 7.x for content transfer since it requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP2. However, UCF 7.x (embedded in DFS) requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.
• Business Object Framework dependencies — some services delivered with Documentum Foundation Services depend on Service-based Business Objects (SBOs). Because SBOs are downloaded to the service dynamically from the global registry, environments that use these services must have a correctly configured global registry, and the global registry credentials must be set in the Documentum Foundation Services dfc.properties file when Documentum Foundation Services is deployed. The following paragraph provide details about specific services.
• CommentService is dependent on SBOs included in the DCE DAR (formerly DocApp). The CommentService will not work with the default DAR installed by Content Server 7.0. To get CommentService functionality, clients must update to the latest DCE DAR (7.0). The TaskManagement service requires that the latest Process Engine be installed on Content Server.
Process Engine installs the BPM DAR, which contains SBOs and modules required by the service.
• Supports 64-bit version of web application server.
• Supports only 64-bit version of JDK.
Documentum Foundation Services System Requirements
transfer encoding (as described in the HTTP/1.1 protocol) to the back-end web application server.
If chunked requests are not supported then the client should use UCF Alternative Chunking mode. For details on configuring and using UCF Alternative Chunking mode, refer to the EMC Documentum Web Development Kit Development Guide.
• Only the following forward proxy configurations are supported:
— Auto configuration script
— Explicitly specifying the proxy server (for example, the host and port)
— Auto detect settings, configured using ProxyCfg.exe (proxy configuration tool)
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 were tested for this release.

Chapter 12 Federated Search Services System
Requirements
This chapter describes the environment and system requirements for the Federated Search Services (FS2) release.
The system requirements are categorized as follows:
• Hardware Requirements, page 85
• Operating System Requirements, page 86
• Additional Product Support, page 86
• EMC Product Requirements, page 87
• Product Notes, page 87
Hardware Requirements
This section provides information about the hardware requirements.
Table 76. FS2 — Hardware Requirements
Item Requirement
CPU 800 MHz (minimum), 1 GHz or greater (recommended)
Memory [1] 1 GB (2 GB recommended)
Disk space [2] 500 MB
Network [3] 128 KB/s Internet connection for external sources, 10 MB/s Intranet connection between server and clients
[1] The amount of RAM that is available after taking into consideration all other RAM utilization requirements.
[2] Free disk space for the application installation. Additional space is required for repository content, such as user accounts and persistent searches.
[3] Suggested minimum only. The network requirement varies with the number of users and the number of external sources.

Federated Search Services System Requirements
Operating System Requirements
Federated Search Services provides extended search capabilities to external sources for WDK-based client applications, such as Digital Asset Manager, Documentum Administrator, Webtop, and Web Publisher, as well as DFC- or DFS-based custom applications. Refer to the respective WDK-based client application table for more information. TaskSpace is not supported out-of-the-box. You must install the xCP TaskSpace Advanced Search xCelerator to integrate the Webtop Advanced Search and Federated Search into TaskSpace. The xCelerator can be found on EMC Community Network (https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-6937).
This section provides information about the operating system and processor requirements.
