Exercise: Cord-cutting

In document Angels (Page 171-175)

To cut the cords you must be able to stay relaxed and present in meditation.

The process is very simple:

C Visualize yourself bathed in a golden light of protection.

C In your mind, allow yourself to become aware of any blockages, ties or situations of your past that you feel are standing between you and peace.

C Allow these situations, people and places to become ribbons wrapping tightly round you.

C In your mind, see a beautiful golden angel coming towards you with a huge sword of light in their hand.

C As soon as the sword touches a ribbon, the ribbon disintegrates.

See the sword cutting through all of the ribbons. The cords are cut. You are released. You are free.

C Take some time to feel the power of your freedom.

Angelic toolbox

C Thank the angel and open your eyes.

C To finish the cord-cutting ceremony, say this prayer:

Thank you, angels and Archangel Michael, for cutting the cords that bind me to people, places and situations. I am safe and free! And so it is!

Cleansing the energy

There will be times when you feel your energy needs a good steep, but that’s OK! When we open up to angels we’re always connected to love, but the vibes of the people we connect with in life can be influential and make us feel down.

I do readings as my full-time job, and sometimes after a long day I can feel tired and drained. Sometimes it’s not even due to negative energy, sometimes it’s just low energy. I have come to realize that looking after my body, mind and soul is very important and I do different rituals for them all.

Salt baths

I love baths! They’re all brilliant, but there’s one type of bath that can really adjust and cleanse your energy: sea salt baths! That’s right, having a nice relaxing bath with sea salts can have the most amazing effect. One of my dear psychic friends, Diane Etherson, has Dead Sea salt baths all the time. She goes through bags of the stuff to ensure her energy and chakras are ‘blinging’, as she

would say. My personal favourite is Himalayan salt. I love a Himalayan salt bath – it always revitalizes me.

exercise

Exercise definitely gets your spirit aligned. For many years my body was so out of shape that when I began to be aware of it and exercise more, things really did shift.

There’s no particular style of exercise I can recommend, but I can say that you need to make the effort with it – no half-assed stuff. Get moving and feel your spirit align!

Yoga

Yoga has been my ultimate life-saver. It’s allowed me to get focused, not only on my body and breath, but on God too. When I go onto my mat I can feel my angels circle around me. I’ve even seen angels supporting and loving the people they are looking after when I’ve been to public classes.

Yoga unites the body, mind and soul and this helps us with angelic development because we become more aware, and really that’s what’s missing when we don’t experience these beings. I enjoy the more dynamic Ashtanga classes, as there’s no way you can be distracted when you’re doing so much focusing on your body, alignment, breath and moving to the next posture.

Sage smudging

Sage sticks are available in most spiritual shops. This Native American technique is a highly recommended way to cleanse your aura and chakras. All you do is light

the sage (white sage is the best) and allow it to burn.

Then, using a large feather, fan or even your hand, you direct the smoke around your aura from head to toe.

I’ve found that doing this for yourself can be challenging, so it’s also a great way to connect with a partner.

You cleanse their vibes and they do yours in return. I love doing this and have done it at the beginning of workshops. It’s always fun too!

tuning in

Tuning in is what you should do as you connect with your angel or the angel of another person. It’s the process you go through to raise your energy, open up your psychic senses and give your angels permission to communicate.

Tuning in ultimately creates the bridge between you and the angelic realm. I tune in at the beginning of my meditation practice, when I’m reading angel cards for myself or another person, or when I’m doing some sort of public speaking. It’s my way of being an open channel to love and the angels.

You’ve already tuned in throughout the book in different ways. You’ve opened up your third eye, your ears and of course the feeling centres of the heart and solar plexus.

The following process brings all of these together and opens them up as one. You can use it if it feels right to you or you can create your own way of tuning in.

Whatever makes you think ‘I’m in’ is the best way for you.
