Chapter 9 Seeing angels

‘Faith causes the unseen to become visible.’

P

eople say being able to see angels is a gift and it really is! But what I’ve found is that it’s not offered to just a few people. We can all do it – with practice. At some point on our life’s journey we’ll all have experienced clairvoyance. Clairvoyance means ‘clear seeing’. It’s the psychic ability to see things beyond the everyday world. The most common form is having some sort of experience through dreams. When you’ve had a dream in which you’ve seen a future event or been visited by a loved one in heaven or by angels, that’s clairvoyance.

All clairvoyants see things differently and the reason for this is that we all see things differently in life. If you and I were standing at the top of a mountain together and were looking out over the view, I guarantee that each of us would pick out different objects, clouds and even landmarks.

You’ve probably realized by now that angels adapt themselves to us so we can understand them to the best of our ability, and it’s the same with clairvoyance: angels will work with us in a way that is understandable and accessible to us.

The way I see angels has fluctuated over the years. It generally happens in my mind. I’ll be looking at someone, or a space, and in my mind, at the same time as seeing the person or space, I’ll see an angel there. It’s as if my mind is projecting the image it’s seeing into that space so that I can see and understand what’s going on angelically.

At first when I saw angels it would happen almost by chance – I’d just be in the right place at the right time.

When I wanted to see one, it didn’t always happen. I had to learn how to develop my sight.

Developing the sight

When I started developing my clairvoyance I’d practise doing readings for people and in my mind I’d say, ‘Angels, please show yourselves to me.’ Sometimes my prayer would be answered, but most of the time it wouldn’t be.

Things were different, though, if I closed my eyes but still faced the person I was reading for. Then I’d see a light, a colour, an outline or, even better, an angel standing there.

I believe we have all seen our angel. Before we came to Earth our soul was connected to our angel. The problem is that even though that connection is still present, we feel separate from our angel because we can’t see it.

I’ve found that remembering, believing and even simply

trusting that we are one with these divine beings allows us to see them once more.

Baby steps

Taking baby steps is the best way forwards. This is because many people love the idea of seeing angels but at the back of their mind they have reservations or even find it scary. When I started to develop my clairvoyance I had these reservations too, but ultimately it became the most exciting, purpose-filled part of my life.

the aura and chakras

A great place to start developing clairvoyance is by looking at the aura. You’ll remember that this is the psychic energy that surrounds every living thing. It is almost like a mirror, a mirror of the soul. It contains information about a person’s life – past, present and what they are focusing on now that will create their future. The best thing about the aura is the fact that it’s connected to the angels. Our guardian angel is so close to us that they’re actually standing in our aura, and once we start to see our aura, eventually their aura will become apparent too. Exciting, right?

Before we begin practising seeing angels and auras, though, it’s important to address the psychic sight. We

‘see’ psychically by a process of ‘tuning in’ our energy.

The way I do it is by visualizing the specific energy centres in my body that allow me to perceive heaven.

You may have heard of these centres before. They are called the chakras.

Chakras

Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means ‘wheel’ and it is used to describe a spiritual energy point on the body.

There are seven main chakras running from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each one has both physical and non-physical connections.

C The first chakra is found at the base of the spine.

It is known as Muladhara, which means ‘root support’. This chakra is red and is connected to our foundations, such as our home, family, finances and comfort zone.

C The second chakra is found just below the navel and is known as Svadisthana, which means ‘one’s own place’. This centre, the sacral chakra, is orange and is connected to our reproductive system and sexual organs.

C The third chakra is found at our stomach and is known as Manipura, which means ‘place of jewels’. This chakra is yellow and is connected to our willpower, drive and energy.

C The fourth chakra is found in our heart centre and is known as Anahata, which means ‘unstruck’. This chakra is green and is connected to our ability to give and receive love.

C The fifth chakra is found at the throat area and is known as Vishuddha, which means ‘pure place’. This chakra is blue and is connected to our communication and ability to speak with integrity.

C The sixth chakra is found between the brows and is known as Ajna, which means ‘command’. This chakra, the third eye, is indigo. It is connected to our mind and perception, and governs our ability to see clairvoyantly.

C The seventh chakra is found at the top of the head and is known as Sahasrara, which means ‘lotus of 1,000 petals’. This chakra, the crown, is violet. It is connected to our spiritual connections and beliefs.
