Field Description

Position Number

In an environment with an intermediate ALI PBX (see Section 9.0) or ALI Key System (see Section 10.0) the Position Number is retrieved from the position translation table associated with the intermediate device, and is defined by the PSAP. This applies to both ACD and non-ACD configurations.

In an environment without an intermediate device the Position Number

depends on the operating environment. In a non-ACD environment the position is generally set to the 9-1-1 service line number connecting the DMS-100™ to the customer terminal equipment. In an ACD environment, the position number is returned by the DMS-100™ switch.
