ABSTRACT

As mentioned earlier, we are going to develop a low cost and effective security system for lockers and homes.

So, here we are going to use a LPC2148 development along with LDR (Light Dependent resistor), IR sensors and GSM module. For Locker security purpose we are using an LDR to detect whether the locker is open or not.

When the locker is closed there will be no light inside the locker. So when it is opened by someone, this LDR will be detected by light and it gives intimation to the controller board. The controller will send an alerting SMS to the locker owner and corresponding authorities so that they can take an emergency action. The second type of security we are mentioning here is Home Security. Now a day’s lot of people are staying in cities very far from their families for work purpose. So lot of them will leave their home locked and got work daily. Hence there will be a chance for thieves to enter into the houses and steal valuable things in the houses. So there also we can provide security by using IR (infrared) sensors. So whenever the door is open the communication between IR transmitter and IR receiver will be lost which will indicate microcontroller board that someone has opened the door and the microcontroller board will gives the information to the house owner through an SMS.

I. INTRODUCTION

In this modern automation times, we have to keep things under control by the use of well-defined technology and engineering solutions. In recent times, many engineering environments like electronics, communication, Computer Science and Instrumentation technology, use lot of sensing devices together in order to get better benefits in benefits. Obviously, it is a promising fact that disciplinary efforts could lead to success because every field will overcome the limitations of the order. So, considering this as an inspiration, we are developing an alternative method to provide security. This provides theft control design for homes, secure lockers and bank lockers etc. by using LDR, IR, and GSM module to send SMS.

Many recent advancements in the field of security involves technologies like bar code, sensing networks, RFID etc. besides these technologies, lot of varieties of sensors, are also implemented DS1621(Temperature sensor), MQ3( gas sensor), proximity sensor etc. The most widely used processors by the professional of this domain are FPGA, ARM and microcontrollers. However, most of the recent theft control technologies depend on face recognition and TDMA. Even though this provides power efficiency, it requires image processing techniques. It has increased the complexity and cost of implementation. So, keeping in mind an economical and compact system for security we implement this design. In this paper, the LDR detects a variation in the light intensity

when the bank locker is open and it intimates the microcontroller board when high light intensity is detected.

The controller board is programmed in a way that it sends a message to the account holder and concerned officials by using GSM module which is serially connected to the controller board indicating that locker is opened. The LDR circuit will be attached to the inner side of the locker so that it detects any light from outside immediately. Reaming circuit will be fixed outside to the locker and it is invisible to the human eye as it is attached behind the locker case. As mentioned earlier, we are going to develop a low cost and effective security system for lockers and homes. So there also we can provide security by using IR(infrared) sensors.IR sensor works on a point to point communication formula that means whenever an IR transmitter and IR receiver comes in straight line then communication between IR transmitter and receiver will takes place. So we will fix an IR pair to the door of a home in such a way that the IR receiver will continuously receive the signal from IR transmitter. So whenever the door is open the communication between IR transmitter and IR receiver will be lost which will indicate microcontroller board that someone has opened the door and the microcontroller board will gives the information to the house owner through an SMS.

Like this we are going to provide security for both bank lockers and homes by using LDR and IR attached to the microcontroller board and a GSM modem. As we are using LDR and IR as the sensing devices our system is called as low cost system because of the low cost of these LDR and IR. GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) is used to send an alerting message to the authorized persons.

II.LITERATUREREVIEW

V.WORKING DESCRIPTION

Here we are using LPC 2148 MICRO-controller. The LCD is connected to the PORT-1. We are using 8-bit LCD.

So we used 8-data lines. The register select is connected to the P1.16 and enable is connected to P1.17. So whatever the data we want we can display it on LCD.Here LDR is connected to the P0.3 pin. And IR sensor is connected to P0.4 these two are detection of Door locking and opening the door’s works on serial communication so whatever the information we need to send should be sent using serial communication. So we have connected the GSM to the UART 0. So when the theft has been detected, then it is going to send the information about the authorized person

VI. RESULTS

The results observed in this project can be given as below, and observed as in general when door is locked condition no sunlight will appears inside of the door, when someone door is opened LDR detects and by turn the doors IRs attached in side of the door also detected, and another thing is Theft intimation to authentic person by sending message through GSM when device protection IRs detected.

VI. CONCLUSION

Hence we conclude from this project by using photosensitive system like LDR (Light dependent resistor) and IR (Infrared) sensors we are providing locking system and making security alerts continuously , if in case any device/Money may stole by thieves it sends message to authorized person using GSM module for security purpose.
