The PeopleNet Wireless Fleet System makes it easy

for drivers and dispatchers to communicate with each

other. This guide will help you familiarize yourself with

the features and controls of the PeopleNet system so

you can use it efficiently.

SAFETY: Please do not operate the PeopleNet system while your vehicle is moving.

PEOPLENET CUSTOMER SUPPORT: If you have any questions concerning the PeopleNet

Wireless Fleet System, call our customer support team, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (888) 346-3486, or 111 on your voice handset.

Hardware

ONBOARD COMPUTER: Holds the wireless transceiver, which sends data and voice communications over the wireless network, and the GPS receiver, which uses GPS satellites to monitor vehicle location.

The onboard computer was designed to be updated with the latest equipment software. As new products, features, and services are launched, your PeopleNet system is automatically updated via OTAP® over-the-air-programming. During upgrades, the

system is unavailable for sending or receiving messages.

Keyboard

The keyboard enables drivers to send detailed messages. Without the keyboard, only pre-programmed messages or multiple choice form messages can be sent. Each keyboard is shipped with a protective cover to keep it clean and prevent damage. If you are having problems with the keyboard, check the lock status feature in the LOCK STATUS section under MENU. The Smart Lock feature is designed to prevent accidental keystrokes. It must be set to unlock mode for the F8, F9, F10, Pause Break, Pg Up/Pg Dn and Enter keys to work.

Message Display Menu Features

The menu screen allows you to adjust settings, manage your address book, view PerformX vehicle performance information and reboot the computer. Press BACK or F8 to return to the previous screen. Press PAUSE BREAK to return to the idle screen.
