Support Statements

Configurations, components, operating systems, or products that are not listed in this

document are not supported.

EMC SourceOne products support only the third-party product versions that the product

vendor supports, and that are in this document.

Only third parties can support third-party product features which are not documented as

working with EMC SourceOne products. EMC SourceOne products do not support all third

party product features.

If a listed third-party product is no longer supported by the vendor (such as when a

product has reached the end of support), support for that product may be limited or no

longer available. Once a supported product reaches the end of standard support, only

defects reported against an EMC SourceOne product that are reproducible with a

supported version of that product can be addressed. Otherwise, the customer is asked to

upgrade to a current supported version to continue to receive support.

Microsoft Windows provides Performance Monitor (PerfMon) counters that can systems

management applications can consume to enable administrators to monitor system and

application performance for applications running on Windows, such as EMC SourceOne.

EMC SourceOne publishes a set of performance counters when installed to enable

monitoring of performance of some EMC SourceOne processes.

The EMC SourceOne counters are provided on an As Is basis, technical support for issues

that are related to the performance counters is not available.

EMC SourceOne products language support

EMC SourceOne product language support consists of the following.

l

The list of languages for which each product is localized. Refer to

EMC SourceOne

products localization support on page 18

for the localization support for each

product.

l

The list of languages which the EMC SourceOne Native Archive can process for

archiving and indexing. Refer to

EMC SourceOne product languages supported for

archiving and indexing on page 19

for the archiving and indexing support.

EMC SourceOne products localization support

The languages for which each of the EMC SourceOne products are localized are listed in

appropriate sections for each of the following products.

(19)

Note

EMC SourceOne Email Supervisor is not localized.

EMC SourceOne product languages supported for archiving and indexing

The EMC SourceOne Native Archive supports archiving and indexing for the languages

that are listed in the following table.

EMC SourceOne indexing, search, and display is Unicode compliant. This display means

that any Unicode encoded content can be archived, indexed, searched, and displayed.

The following table lists the special cases. Conversion and indexing uses UTF8 for all

documents. Conversion to UTF8 occurs for all searches before execution.

Refer to

www.unicode.org

for more information about Unicode.

Microsoft Clustering of EMC SourceOne Master Servers EMC SourceOne Master Servers can run on a supported Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) configuration on supported operating systems. Microsoft clusters of EMC SourceOne Master Servers are supported in a two node active-passive cluster. EMC SourceOne Worker Servers do not require clustering.

Microsoft Clustering of Exchange Servers EMC SourceOne Email Management works with a supported version of Microsoft Exchange when Microsoft Exchange, including OWA, is running on a supported Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) configuration. VMware EMC SourceOne is supported running on VMware ESX Server 3.5 or

4.1, or ESXi 5.0 or 5.5 software in the following configuration:

l Master Servers, Worker Servers, or Native Archive servers may be

on physical or virtualized computers. Local storage for these servers can be either physical or virtualized. Storage locations with high I/O may need deployment-specific configurations to meet system needs.

l For the best I/O performance, EMC recommends that EMC

SourceOne Message Center Location directories, Index Storage Location directories, Archive Location directories, EMC SourceOne Work directories, and EMC SourceOne Index Work directories be hosted on direct attached devices, NAS devices, or physical file servers. Virtualized file servers for these locations are also supported.

For third-party software, such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, or IBM Domino, contact the third party for their support of VMware.

EMC DiskXtender for Windows as an archive destination EMC SourceOne Email Management supports DiskXtender for Windows 6.5 SP5 Patch 1. Patch 1 must be installed. DiskXtender 6.5 SP6 and later are not supported.

EMC Atmos devices l EMC SourceOne Email Management 7.2 supports EMC Atmos

Third-party instant message proxy servers EMC SourceOne Email Management supports the capture and archiving of instant messages through the use of third-party instant message proxy server software. The proxy server software captures instant message conversations and converts them into SMTP messages that are then sent to EMC SourceOne Email Management to be archived as any other SMTP message. The following are the requirements for a proxy server that is used with EMC SourceOne Email Management:

l All proxy servers must be configured to convert IM conversations

into plain, SMTP, body text.

l All IM chat participant's SMTP addresses must be listed in the To,

CC, or From field to be associated with a particular employee. Languages Refer to EMC SourceOne products language support on page 18 on
